Suzuki had 14 goals and 30 points with Springfield (AHL) in 2023-24 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract extension with Carolina on Wednesday. The 23-year-old was the Hurricanes' 2019 first-round pick (28th overall) but has yet to make his NHL debut after four AHL seasons.

With Carolina in need of playoff reinforcements and Springfield (AHL) willing to send Ryan Suzuki back, the 22-year-old forward has been recalled to the Hurricanes. Suzuki is Carolina's 2019 1st round pick (28th overall) and had 14 goals and 30 points in 51 games with Springfield this season.
The 28th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft has yet to make his NHL debut but had 32 points (13G / 19A) in 50 AHL games a season ago. Suzuki will start his 2023-24 campaign with the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL.
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour called it a "not serious shoulder injury," but it's still expected to sideline him for at least on week. The 2019 No.28 overall pick has yet to make his NHL debut, but had 32 points (13G / 19A) in 50 AHL games a season ago.
Suzuki was selected with the No.28 overall pick in this summer’s draft after scoring 25 goals with 50 assists (75 points) in 65 games with the Barrie Colts (OHL).
