Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher said that Morin won't be able to continue his career because he's had "too many knee injuries." Morin was drafted No.11 overall in 2013 and only suited up in 29 career NHL games, scoring one goal with no assists. Fletcher added that he will "talk with Morin about a possible job with the organization."

With the regular season just three weeks away, Morin will miss at least the first three weeks of the season. Since being drafted No.11 overall in 2013, injuries have really derailed Morin's career to-date. He has appeared in just 29 games over five seasons, including just 20 games a season ago.

Morin was supposed to make the move from defence to forward in 2021 but didn't make much of an impact at any level. Morin is an imposing figure (6-foot-6, 202 lbs.) and a former top-15 pick (No.11 overall in 2013) but has just one goal in 29 career NHL games to this point.

Morin was a healthy scratch on Tuesday but will replace Robert Hagg in the lineup on Thursday. Morning has scored one goal with no assists and a minus-9 rating in 17 games this season.

Not only will Saturday be his season debut but it will also be the first game of his NHL career at forward. Morin is a 6-foot-6, 206 lbs. former first-round pick who made the switch from D to forward this offseason. He has no points in nine career NHL games thus far but he's expected to replace Travis Konecny in the lineup on Saturday.

Morin is a 6-foot-6 defenseman who is making the transition to forward this promotion puts him one step closer to playing forward at the NHL-level. The 25-year-old will not play on Thursday but he could make his season debut soon with both Sean Couturier and Morgan Frost out with injuries.

Morin appeared in just one game of the Flyers' first 11 games with the Flyers and swaps places with Phillipe Myers so he can get some playing time in the AHL. The former first-round pick has played very little hockey since 2018, appearing in just 17 AHL games and eight NHL games thanks to a knee injury.

Morin made his season debut on Sunday but will come back out of the lineup on Tuesday. Robert Hagg will replace him in Pittsburgh.

Morin was a healthy scratch on Sunday but will replace Radko Gudas in Dallas. Morin has no points, one shot and a minus-1 rating while averaging 11:27 TOI/gm in two games with Philadelphia this season.


Morin was on a conditioning loan with the Phantoms, where he had no points and five PIMS in two games. The former No.11 overall pick (2013) has only appeared in three career NHL games with the Flyers.

Morin has been sidelined by a knee injury since November 24th but heads to Lehigh Valley to get back up to game speed. The 2013 No.11 overall pick will likely return to the Flyers in a week or so and could replace a veteran like Andrew MacDonald in the lineup.


Morin appeared in two games with the Flyers during his call-up, but with Andrew MacDonald set to return to the lineup tonight, Morin heads back to the AHL.

Morin was supposed to get called up a few weeks ago, but an injury held him down. the former first round pick (No.11 overall in 2013) has five points (1G / 4A) in 10 AHL games this season and tonight he is expected make his season debut, which would be just his second career NHL game.

With Shayne Gostisbehere (upper-body) out, it looked like Samuel Morin was finally going to get his chance, but it looks like he’ll have to wait a little longer. Morin was never officially recalled and will now miss at least a couple of weeks and will likely return at the AHL level.

Morin, 22, was recalled from Lehigh Valley (AHL) and was expected to make his season debut on Monday with Shayne Gostisbehere out, but that may not be the case now. Morin is reportedly dealing with a “nagging” injury and may not be available vs. the Coyotes. If Morin can’t go, look for Mark Alt to be recalled from the AHL.

Morin cracked the Flyers’ opening night roster, but never made it into the lineup through the first four games. Morin returns to Lehigh Valley, where he had 16 points (3G / 13A) and 129 PIMS in 74 games last season. He’ll be back in the NHL at some point this season.
