Gomez only had 49 points in 118 games in his last two seasons in Montreal. Those aren't encouraging numbers for fantasy owners. He gets a fresh start in San Jose to resurrect his career. Let him show you he can do that before running to the Waiver Wire to get him.
The move appears to have Gomez sitting out the season and getting bought out in the summer. Gomez wasn't expected to play a relevant role for the Canadiens this season, anyways.
