He takes the place of Tyler Tucker in the Blues' lineup Thursday.

Perunovich spent much of his 2022-23 nursing an injury but still collected two goals and 20 points across 22 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL). The 24-year-old defenseman was impressive representing the United States as the World Championships, putting up eight points (1G/7A) across 10 games played.

Perunovich was excellent in his first AHL season, posting 22 points (3G / 19A) in 17 games before being promoted to the NHL. He had six assists in 19 games before undergoing left wrist surgery in March. Perunovich may start the 2022-23 season in the AHL and have to work his way back to the NHL.
