Griffith has been terrific at the AHL-level since he turned pro in 2014 but has had very little success in the NHL. Most recently, Griffith had 41 points (21G / 20A) in 58 games with the Manitoba Moose (AHL) and will likely start 2021 in Bakersfield (AHL).
Griffith has bounced around the NHL quite a bit but has been an excellent point producer in the AHL. Griffith led Manitoba (AHL) in points, scoring 16 goals with 41 assists (57 points) in 69 games last season. The Jets have now inked their two leading AHL scorers from a year ago after also signing Logan Shaw last week.
With Kyle Okposo’s wife in labour and questionable for Wednesday, Griffith has been recalled to presumably take his spot in the lineup. Griffith had three points (2G / 1A) in 18 games with the Sabres earlier this season. During his time in Rochester, he has 13 goals and 21 assists (34 points) in 36 games.

The 24-year-old has great hands, but the consensus seems to be that he doesn’t have the speed to be a regular NHLer. Griffith will head to the AHL—he had 77 points (24G / 53A) in 57 AHL games with Providence last season.
Griffith has missed the last four games with a concussion, but will return to the Panthers’ lineup on Friday. Griffith will skate on the top line with Vincent Trocheck and Jaromir Jagr and comes in with five assists in 23 games this season.
Griffith suffered a concussion on a hit from Nikolaj Ehlers on Wednesday and will miss an extended period of time. Head coach Tom Rowe said that Griffith is out for "god knows how long," so don't expect to see him anytime soon. With Griffith out, the Panthers recalled Jared McCann from Springfield (AHL).

His return to the AHL means that Jimmy Hayes will get back into the lineup on Tuesday.

Griffith sprained his left knee in the Bruins preseason opener. Griffith had 10 points (6G / 4A) in 30 games with the Bruins last season and was poised to battle for a roster spot in training camp. This injury will likely force Griffith to start in the AHL, where he had 31 points (12G / 19A) in 39 games a season ago.
