Robidas has been battling a knee and groin injury throughout the preseason so he was placed on IR to open up a roster spot for someone else. There is no timetable for his return.

Robidas will have surgery on his left shoulder next week and will miss the rest of the regular season. With Robidas out, Tim Erixon and Eric Brewer are expected to be permanent fixtures on the Maple Leafs blue line for the remainder of the season.

Robidas has not played in the last seven games, but will replace Petter Granberg in the lineup tonight in Nashville. Robidas has five assists and leads the Maple Leafs in plus/minus with a plus-11 rating.

The Stars are expected to provide an update on the nature and the severity of the break later today, but for now consider him out indefinitely. Expect Kevin Connauton or Aaron Rome to fill the void on the blueline.
