
Downie has missed the last 10 games with an upper-body injury, but will be back in the lineup tonight in Detroit. With Downie back, the Coyotes have sent Craig Cunningham back to Portland (AHL). Donnie has one goal and two assists in 14 games this season.
Downie left Tuesday’s game after being elbowed in the head by Wild defenseman Ryan Suter. He was able to practice the last few days and was on the ice for the morning skate, so he is good to go. He has two goals and one assist in hike last five games since returning from mumps.

Downie scored four goals with 20 assists and 106 penalty minutes in 62 games between the Avalanche and the Flyers. Downie battled a number of injuries including a concussion in 2013-14, so the Penguins take nearly no risk by signing him to a one-year, million dollar contract.
Downie has missed the last eight games, but will likely be back vs. the Panthers tonight. With Zac Rinaldo getting suspended for the remainder of the regular season, Downie would slide in for him.
