Demko will start Monday vs. the Panthers.

Demko stopped 23 of 24 shots in the Canucks loss in New Jersey on October 19th. Jacob Markstrom has started the last three games but it looks like Demko will make his fourth start of the year on Monday. He has been extremely impressive, posting a 1.64 GAA and .943 SV% so far and while the Panthers present a very difficult matchup, they are on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Demko allowed three goals on 37 shots in the Canucks win in St. Louis on Thursday. With Jacob Markstrom away for personal reasons, Demko started the last two games and went 2-0-0 while allowing just four goals on 64 shots (.938 SV%). Markstrom returned to practice on Friday but the Canucks will stick with Demko this afternoon before turning to Markstrom on Sunday.

Demko allowed one goal on 27 shots in the Canucks 5-1 win over the Red Wings on Tuesday. Demko gave up a goal to Dylan Larkin in the first 30 seconds but settled in and didn’t allow another goal after that. It was an outstanding season debut for the young netminder, who will start again tonight with Jacob Markstrom (personal) still away from the team. Demko was 1-2-1 with a 2.95 GAA and .904 SV% in four road starts last year

With Jacob Markstrom away from the team to attend a personal matter, Demko will make his season debut against Detroit. Demko split his 2018-19 season between the AHL and NHL. He was 8-6-0 with a .911 SV% with Utica (AHL) and was 4-3-1 with a 2.81 GAA and .913 SV% in the NHL. He could see two or three starts this week, making him a great pickup.

Demko will start Tuesday vs. the Sharks.

Demko allowed two goals on 39 shots in the Canucks win over the Sharks last Thursday. Jacob Markstrom started on Saturday, but they will come back to Demko tonight vs. the Sharks. The 23-year-old has gone 3-3-0 with a 3.08 GAA and .902 SV% in six starts and one relief appearance in the NHL this season.

Demko will not be available for Tuesday’s game in Washington.

Demko, who likely would have been in-line to start Tuesday’s game, tweaked something in warmups on Monday and will not be available for Tuesday’s contest. Mikey DiPietro will join the Canucks in Washington to serve as Jacob Markstrom’s backup.

Demko will be making his season debut after serving as Jacob Markstrom’s backup for a couple of weeks. Demko is one of the top goaltending prospects in the NHL and went 8-5-0 with a 2.58 GAA and .911 SV% in 16 games before being promoted to the NHL. He allowed four goals on 30 shots in a 5-4 OT win vs. the Blue Jackets in his NHL debut last year.

The Canucks have recalled Thatcher Demko from Utica (AHL).

The Canucks traded Anders Nilsson to the Senators for Mike McKenna and waived McKenna with the purpose of sending him to the AHL to replace Demko when they called him up. Despite losing McKenna on waivers to Philadelphia, Demko still comes up as the Canucks’ No.2 netminder. The 2014 second-round pick has gone 8-5-0 wit a 2.58 GAA and .911 SV% in 16 games with the Comets this season.

Demko, 22, is the Canucks goalie of the future and comes up to get a taste of the NHL after a good year in Utica (AHL). Demko, who was the No.36 overall pick in 2014, went 23-12-4 with a 2.49 GAA and .921 SV% in 42 games with the Comets, but draws a stiff test in his NHL debut.
