Myers will have a discipline phone hearing tomorrow after delivering an illegal check to the head of Dainius Zubrus on Saturday.

The Sabres have three games this week, so monitor Myers status on Monday before finalizing your lineups in weekly leagues. With a phone hearing he is not expected to be given a lengthy suspension, but as a repeat offender he will likely get at least one game.

Myers left Tuesday's contest in OT after taking a puck to the face.

There is no word on how severe the injury to Myers is, but there should be a detailed injury report released in the next few days. For now consider the towering defenseman day-to-day. He has struggled with just two goals and eight points with a minus-13 rating in 31 games.

#Sabres Tyler Myers just told me he's scratched tonight. #Buffalo

Myers was scratched yesterday as well. He has been terrible for the Sabres this season, he has 1 G and a team worst -9 in 11 games this season. The 23 year-old has all the tools to be a great NHL defenceman but just hasn't been able to find his game early this season.

Myers was seen in a walking boot late last night and I asked Ruff today -- twice -- if the foot was broken. He wouldn't answer directly, other than to say the foot was "bad."

Sounds like Myers will miss the rest of the regular season and the playoffs (if the Sabres make it). He has eight goals and 23 points in 55 games.

The third year defenseman will return to the lineup tonight against the Montreal Canadiens after serving a three-game ban for his hit on Scott Gomez last week.

Myers draws back into the lineup tonight after serving his three-game suspension. The big d-man has eight goals and 21 points through 50 games.

“I take another CAT scan tomorrow morning,” Myers said. “We’ll know a little bit more there, if I can start leaning on my stick a lot more, start engaging in physical play. I think today was its best day.”

Myers was deemed "a ways away" by coach Lindy Ruff at the end of December. Sounds like he continues to take steps in the right direction but probably misses another week or two.
