Ville Husso News

Husso will start vs. Toronto on Monday.

Husso has had a semi-regular workload in recent weeks and will return to the crease on Monday against the Toronto Maple Leafs for his sixth start in Anaheim's last 14 games. The 31-year-old Finnish goalie has earned his increased workload with serviceable play in the backup position, posting a solid 2.60 GAA and .918 SV% in five games this month (3-2-0). The Ducks enter Monday's contest as -184 home favourites against a Maple Leafs team coming off a one-sided 5-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues.

Husso will start in Calgary on Thursday.

For the third time in the last seven games, the Ducks will turn to Husso to tend the twine when they face the Calgary Flames on Thursday. The 31-year-old Finnish goalie allowed five goals on 29 shots (.828 SV%) in his most recent outing, but salvaged a 6-5 overtime victory over the Buffalo Sabres. He has a 2.81 GAA and .918 SV% in four games this month (2-2-0). The Ducks enter Thursday's contest as -128 road favourites against a Flames team that has been surprisingly competent since losing several key players at the trade deadline, going 6-4-0.

Husso will start against the Islanders on Wednesday.

The Ducks will unsurprisingly turn to their backup netminder Husso for the tail-end of their back-to-back on Wednesday. Husso's last start came way back on January 26th when he was tagged for five goals on 30 shots in a 7-4 loss in Edmonton. The 30-year-old goaltender has made 11 starts for the Ducks this season, logging a 6-5-1 record and an .882 SV%. Husso and The Ducks enter action on Wednesday at -105 on the money line.

Husso will start in Carolina on Thursday.

Lukas Dostal will get a rare night off on Thursday, clearing the way for Husso to make his first start of 2026. Husso's last start came way back on December 16th, when he was tagged for four goals on 28 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss in Columbus. The 30-year-old netminder carries a 5-3-1 record and an .884 SV% into Thursday night's matchup, where the Ducks enter action as heavy underdogs at +185 on the money line.

Husso has been recalled from San Diego (AHL).

The Ducks have allowed four or more goals in nine of their last 12 games (2-7-3) and, with Petr Mrazek (undisclosed) dealing with an injury, could be looking to shake things up between the pipes after recalling Husso from San Diego (AHL). The 30-year-old Husso had a 3.25 GAA and .884 SV% in a nine-game stint (5-3-1) with the Ducks earlier this season.

Husso will start in Columbus on Tuesday.

With Anaheim on the 2nd half of their back-to-back, Ville Husso will take the crease as the Ducks head to Columbus on Tuesday. The 30-year-old backup netminder has struggled when called upon this season, shown by his 5-3-0 record, 3.16 GAA and .888 SV%. He heads to Columbus to take on the floundering Blue Jackets, who are in the midst of a five game losing streak.

Husso will start on Long Island on Thursday.

Husso stopped 44 of 47 shots in the Ducks shootout win in Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Husso has won three straight starts while stopping 81 of the 88 shots that he's faced, filling in admirably for the injured Lukas Dostal and Petr Mrazek. Tonight, he will face the Islanders, where the Ducks are +111 road underdogs. With 13 games on the schedule on Thursday, you probably don't need to risk streaming Husso against an Islanders team that has won four of their last five games.

Husso and the Ducks will be in search of a third straight victory when they travel to Pittsburgh on Tuesday. Husso was superb in Sunday night's 7-1 win over the Blackhawks, stopping 19 of the 20 shots he faced. Anaheim's de facto starting netminder carries a 4-2-0 record into Tuesday night's matchup against the Penguins, where the Ducks enter action at an even +100 on the money line.

Husso will start vs. Washington on Friday.

With Lukas Dostal (lower body) and Petr Mrazek (lower body) both sidelined, Husso remains the de facto starting netminder for the Ducks and will tend the twine on Friday against the Washington Capitals. The 30-year-old Husso was excellent in his first outing as the Ducks' temporary starting goalie, saving 21 of 22 shots (.955 SV%) in a 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues, but followed that up by allowing four goals on 21 shots (.810 SV%) in a dreadful 7-0 loss to the Utah Mammoth. The Ducks enter Friday's contest as +123 home underdogs against a Capitals team outscoring their opposition 27-9 during a six-game winning streak.

Husso will start vs. Utah on Wednesday.

Injuries to Lukas Dostal (lower body) and Petr Mrazek (lower body) have allowed Husso the opportunity for NHL action, which he has seized so far. The 30-year-old Husso was excellent in Monday's 4-1 win over the St. Louis Blues, saving 21 of 22 shots (.955 SV%). Husso has shown glimpses of excellence in his 148-game NHL career, but has lacked consistency, ultimately leading to his demotion to the AHL over the past few seasons. The Ducks enter Wednesday's contest with even -105 odds against a Utah Mammoth team on a four-game losing skid.
