Trocheck has picked up a minor knock and is considered day-to-day after it was announced he would be a game-time decision Wednesday due to an undisclosed injury. The 29-year-old has enjoyed a solid start to his Rangers' tenure, scoring eight goals and seven assists with a -8 plus/minus and 79 SOG through 23 games played.
Trocheck was given a night off on Sunday but will play Tuesday in New York. Trocheck has been pretty quiet as of late, scoring two goals with no assists in his last 13 games.
Trocheck was forced to leave Friday's game vs. the Predators with an upper-body injury and did not return. He was not on the ice for Saturday's practice and the Hurricanes were unsure of his status for Sunday's game. Since its' an afternoon start, consider him a game-time decision.
Trocheck has missed the last eight games with an upper-body injury but could return to the lineup on Tuesday. Trocheck has skated between Andrei Svechnikov and Jesper Fast for the last two days, so all signs are pointing towards him playing in Chicago.
Trocheck will miss at least two more games with an upper-body injury that popped up on Thursday. With Trocheck out, Morgan Geekie will remain in the Hurricanes' bottom-6 and PP2.
It's unclear when Trocheck got hurt but he was not on the ice for Thursday's morning skate and will not play vs. the Predators. Trocheck, who leads the Hurricanes in goals, will obviously be a huge loss and will likely lead to more playing time for Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal. Look for Morgan Geekie to replace him in the lineup.
Trocheck was scratched in Columbus on Monday due to a lower-body injury but head coach Rod Brind'Amour is hopeful that he'll be available on Thursday. Trocheck, who has had a hot start to the season, travelled to Dallas and comes in with six goals and three assists (nine points) in nine games.
Trocheck was acquired from the Panthers on Monday and will draw right into Erik Haula's spot on Tuesday. Trocheck, who has 36 points (10G / 26A) in 55 games this season, will have Nino Niederreiter and Martin Necas on his wings in his debut. He'll likely see PP2 time as well.
Carolina will hope Trocheck can regain some of the elite form he flashed in the 2017-18 season, when he racked up a career high 75 points (31G/44A). Trocheck hasn't quite looked like himself since suffering a fractured ankle in November 2018. The 26-year-old has 10 goals and 26 assists through 55 games this season.
