With four of their regular defensemen out with injury, the Penguins signed Yannick Weber and have recalled him from the taxi squad after he finished his quarantine. The 32-year-old has not had double-digit points in a season since 2015.

Weber spent the last four years with the Predators, totalling just three points (1G / 2A) in 41 games a season ago. The Penguins' blueline has been battered by injuries, so they turned to Weber for some outside help.
Weber has served as a depth defensemen for the Predators for the last two season. He has picked up one goal and two assists (three points) in 25 games this season, to give him just 11 points (2G / 9A) in 98 career games with Nashville.
Weber, who has just two assists in 12 games this season, will play in his first game since November 11th. The 29-year-old defenseman will replace Matt Irwin in the lineup and skate on the third pairing with Anthony Bitetto.
Weber will be out until the last week of November or early-December with a lower-body injury. Anthony Bitetto will return to the lineup tonight, replacing Weber on the blueline.
Hartnell missed Monday’s practice and is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, which suggests that he will not play on Tuesday. With Weber likely out, look for Anthony Bitetto to return to the blueline vs. Washington.
Weber suffered an upper-body injury vs. the Stars last Thursday and missed Saturday’s game in Chicago as a result. Anthony Bitetto will remain in the lineup on Tuesday as long as Roman Josi isn’t ready to return to the lineup. Frederick Gaudreau has been recalled to take his spot on the roster.
After the Predators traded Shea Weber to Montreal they needed to bring in another Weber. The 27-year-old defenseman is known for his offensive ability and the power-play is his primary strength. He had just seven assists in 45 games with Vancouver last season, but had 11 gaols in 65 games the year prior.
Weber missed Monday’s game vs. the Jets and will be held out of tonight’s game vs. the Avalanche. Weber has been in and out of the lineup all season, so this is not a big loss for the Canucks.
Weber has only appeared in one game this season. He played 19:55 and had one shot on goal and a plus-1 rating. Weber will play a key role on the Canucks power-play whenever he gets into the lineup. Tonight he will replace Matt Bartkowski.
Weber has missed three games after suffering an injury on January 31. Weber could play in the top-4 for Switzerland. He has two goals and three assists in 32 games this season.
Weber has proven to be a serviceable NHL defenceman since being drafted in 2007. However, he has found himself in a log jam on the blueline in Vancouver, but could be claimed before noon tomorrow by a team lacking D depth.
Weber only appeared in six games with the Habs last season after dealing with injuries. He has 32 points in 115 career games.
