Rinaldo split his 2020 campaign between the AHL and NHL, finishing the season in Calgary and playing in five playoff games. The pugilist could start 2021 on the Flames roster but likely won't be a regular player.
Rinaldo was a healthy scratch for the last three games but will replace Dylan Dube in the lineup on Wednesday. Rinaldo, who has two goals and one assist in 12 games, is being inserted into the Battle of Alberta after Milan Lucic had his way with Matthew Tkachuk in the last instalment.
Rinaldo has played in four straight games but will be scratched in favour of Mark Jankowski on Thursday.
Rinaldo spent the 2019 season with the Predators but only appeared in 23 games, posting three points (1G / 2A) and 20 PIMS. He also had one assist in three AHL contests. He is expected to start the season in Stockton (AHL) if he clears waivers.
Rinaldo has been out since January 1st and will go to Milwaukee to get back up to game speed. Rinaldo will likely return to the Predators for the playoffs but likely won’t be an integral part of their lineup.

Rinaldo is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body ailment. The veteran winger is expected to be replaced by Rocco Grimaldi on the Predators fourth line.
Rinaldo is under the weather so he won’t play tonight vs. the Lightning. Nick Cousins will replace him in the lineup.
Rinaldo served a five-game suspension to start the season, but will get into the lineup on the Coyotes’ fourth-line tonight. Rinaldo has just 27 points and 655 PIMS in 275 career NHL games.
Rinaldo, who still owes the NHL time yet served on a five-game suspension from last season. If Rinaldo clears waivers he will head to Providence (AHL).
Rinaldo suffered an upper-body injury on Monday night and then was placed on IR on Tuesday. With Rinaldo out, Tyler Randell will remain in the lineup for the foreseeable future.
Rinaldo has a history of suspensions, which clearly played a role in the length of his suspension. He is not eligible to return until February 17th vs. the Blue Jackets.
Letang left the game and did not return. An in-person hearing means that Rinaldo can be suspended for more than five games and given that he is a repeat offender, that is almost a guarantee.
Rinaldo missed Saturday's game against the Red Wings with an upper-body injury he suffered on Wednesday vs. the Penguins. He was only expected to miss one game originally and it looks like he will be in for Blair Jones on Tuesday. He has no points with a minus-3 rating and six penalty minutes in seven games.
