Devon Levi will start Tuesday vs. Boston. Since Levi returned earlier this month from an injury, the Sabres have opted to rotate starts between him and Ukko Pekka-Luukkonen and will likely continue this trend with Levi taking the crease on Tuesday. Levi is sporting a very pedestrian 3.17 GAA and .896 SV% through six games (3-3-0) but has won both starts since returning to the lineup, saving 57 of 63 shots (.905 SV%). The Bruins lead the Eastern Conference with an 11-1-2 record but rank in the bottom half of the league offensively, averaging 3.21 goals per game.Source: Audacy.com
Schmid will start in Winnipeg on Tuesday. Schmid played well coming in relief of Vitek Vanecek on Friday, saving 20 of 21 shots (.952 SV%) in a 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals and will receive only his second start since October 26th. The Devils expected to operate with an even timeshare in their crease, but early struggles for Schmid quickly put that idea to rest. In five games (1-2-1), Schmid has a 3.09 GAA and .898 SV%. Despite his struggles, Vanecek has been far from perfect this season, and a strong performance from Schmid against the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday could go a long way in securing him more game-action.Source: Sam Kasan
Thompson will start in Washington on Tuesday. Thompson will start on Tuesday after serving as the backup for two consecutive games for the Golden Knights. Thompson has not played since November 5th, his longest stretch between games, when he allowed three goals on 22 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. Through six games this season (5-1-0), Thompson has an impressive 2.31 GAA and .923 SV%. The league-leading Golden Knights (12-2-1) are -151 road favourites against the Washington Capitals (7-4-2), who rank 31st in the league offensively (2.31 GF / GP) despite collecting points in three of their last four games (3-0-1).Source: Stephen Whyno
Samuel Montembeault will start Tuesday vs. Calgary.Montembault has been a consistent bright spot on an up-and-down season for the Canadiens and will play his seventh game on Tuesday against the Calgary Flames. Montembault has put together a stellar .911 SV% in his last five appearances, allowing only 13 goals in his last five appearances (2-1-1). The Canadiens are +148 home underdogs but are playing a Flames team that has lost two straight (0-1-1) and ranks sixth-worst among goal production in the league (2.64 GF / GP).Source: Eric Engels
Jarry will start in Columbus on Tuesday. The Penguins are playing their best hockey of the season and will turn to Jarry as they attempt to extend their winning streak to five games. Jarry has not allowed a goal in over 108 minutes and is rocking a fabulous .975 SV% over his last three games (3-0-0). The Penguins have outscored their opposition by a dominant 20-5 total over their last four contests (4-0-0) and will look to continue their dominance as -173 road favourites against a Columbus Blue Jackets team that scores the seventh-fewest goals in the league (2.73 GF / GP).Source: Josh Getzoff
Elvis Merzlikins will start Tuesday vs. Pittsburgh. Merzlikins will return to the Blue Jackets' crease on Tuesday after playing very well in a losing effort on Sunday, allowing three goals on 40 shots (.925 SV%), eventually succumbing to the New York Rangers 4-3 in a shootout. Three of Merzlikins' last four starts have been high-quality performances, but has only managed a 1-1-1 record over that span, partially due to the Blue Jackets' lack of goal production (2.73 GF / GP). The Blue Jackets are +159 home underdogs against a Penguins team that is scorching hot, outscoring their opposition 20-5 during a four-game winning streak.Source: Jeff Svoboda
Jacob Markstrom will start Tuesday at Montreal. Markstrom will return to the Flames crease on Tuesday after being unavailable to dress in the team's previous two games due to an upper-body injury. In his most recent outing, a 4-2 victory over the Nashville Predators, Markstrom saved 16 of 18 shots (.889 SV%), the first time he has recorded a victory when allowing two or fewer goals in a game (1-2-1). The Flames have lost their last two games but are -165 road favourites against a Montreal Canadiens team that ranks in the bottom half of the league defensively (3.40 GF / GP).Source: Julian McKenzie
Connor Hellebuyck will start Tuesday vs. New Jersey. Hellebuyck allowed three goals on 29 shots (.897 SV%) in the Jets most recent game on Saturday, a 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars, and will attempt to get back into the win column as he is set to start against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. After finishing third in Vezina voting last season, posting a quality start in more than two-thirds of games (68.8%), Hellebuyck has struggled in the 2023-24 season, posting a career-worst 2.98 GAA and .892 SV%, only securing a quality start in approximately one-third of games (38.4%). That said, Hellebuyck and the Jets are -141 home favourites against a New Jersey Devils team that has lost three of four (1-3-0) and continues to be without Jack Hughes.Source: Scott Billeck
John Gibson will start Tuesday vs. Nashville. Gibson will start for the second consecutive game on Tuesday when the Ducks take on the Nashville Predators. Gibson has been stellar in November, saving 89 of 93 shots (.957 SV%) in three games (2-1-0) and, on the season, is currently matching his career-best save percentage set in the 2017-18 season (.926). The Ducks are rolling lately, winning seven of their last nine games (7-2-0), but are +154 road underdogs against a Predators team that has lost three straight (0-3-0), being outscored 17-10.Source: Nick Kieser
Saros will start Tuesday's game against the Ducks. Saros will get the chance to redeem himself on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks after some uncharacteristically poor play in November. Saros has yet to win this month (0-4-0) and has allowed three or more goals in each game, posting an awful .860 SV%. Saros has never posted a sub- .914 SV% but is well below his career averages this season with a 3.24 GAA and .894 SV%. Despite his struggles, Saros and the Predators remain -173 home favourites against an Anaheim Ducks team that ranks in the bottom half of the league offensively (3.14 GF / GP).Source: @PredsNHL
Jake Oettinger will start Tuesday vs. Arizona. After losing back-to-back games for the first time this season, Oettinger has rebounded nicely, saving 50 of 55 shots (.909 SV%) in his two games since (2-0-0). Oettinger will look to extend his winning streak on Tuesday as the Stars' starter against the Arizona Coyotes. The Central-Division-leading Stars are sizeable -235 home favourites against a Coyotes team that has impressed with an 8-6-0 record while ranking in the top half of the league offensively (3.36 GF / GP) and defensively (3.00 GA / GP).Source: Owen Newkirk
Jonas Johansson will start Tuesday vs. St. Louis. With Andrei Vasilevskiy nearing his return, Johansson's reign as the starting goalie for the Lightning seems to be coming to an end, and not a second too early, as the Swedish goaltender has struggled lately. In his last five games (1-2-2), Johansson has allowed at least four goals in each and posted an ugly .861 SV%. The Lightning are -123 favourites on Tuesday but are facing a St. Louis Blues team that has outscored their opposition 10-3 during a two-game winning streak. Source: Eduardo Encina
Jordan Binnington will start Tuesday vs. Tampa Bay.Binnington is coming off a fabulous performance on Saturday, saving 36 of 38 shots (.947 SV%) in an 8-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche. Binnington has gone through stretches of strong play followed by poor play this season but is currently in the midst of a 2-1-0 run, allowing only seven goals on 108 shots (.935 SV%). The Blues are +109 home underdogs on Tuesday against a Tampa Bay Lightning team eager to get out of a two-game funk where they have been outscored 9-3 (0-2-0).Source: The Hockey News
Mackenzie Blackwood will start Tuesday vs. Florida. Blackwood will start for the 11th time in 16 games for the Sharks against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday. The Sharks' struggles as the league-worst offence (1.20 GF / GP) and league-worst defence (4.40 GA / GP) have been well documented this season, but nearly as astonishing has been the play of Blackwood between the pipes. Despite the Sharks' inability to compete in most games, Blackwood has recorded a quality start in 60% of his games. His .900 SV% speaks volumes to his level of play this season but hopes for a win remain low as the Sharks are +241 home underdogs on Tuesday.Source: Max Miller
