Luukkonen will start on Wednesday in Pittsburgh. The Sabres have alternated netminders through their first four games this season, a trend that will continue into game five when Luukkonen takes the crease against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Between Luukkonen and Devon Levi, Luukkonen has been the less impressive of the two goalies for the Sabres but was serviceable in his last outing when he saved 20 of 22 shots (.909 SV%) in a 3-1 losing effort to the Los Angeles Kings. Jarry has struggled to start the 2024-25 campaign but salvaged his first victory in his most recent outing, saving 24 of 27 shots (.889 SV%) in a 6-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens. The 29-year-old Jarry has an ugly 4.50 GAA and .866 SV% through two games this season (1-1-0). Rittich will start on Wednesday in Toronto. With Darcy Kuemper (lower body) sidelined for at least one game, Rittich assumes the role of the Kings' starting netminder on Wednesday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The 32-year-old Rittich has not played yet this season but will attempt to replicate his stats from a season ago when he emerged as a viable option in the net for the Kings, posting a 2.15 GAA and .921 SV% in 24 contests (13-6-3). Stolarz will start on Wednesday vs. Los Angeles. With Joseph Woll (lower-body) still sidelined, the Maple Leafs will turn to Stolarz between the pipes for the third time in their first four games. The 31-year-old Stolarz was incredible last season, posting a 2.03 GAA and .925 SV% in 27 outings (16-7-2), and has picked up where he left off, showcasing a tremendous 1.54 GAA and .940 SV% through two games this season (1-1-0). Korpisalo will start in Colorado on Wednesday. Korpisalo will get the surprise start in Colorado on Wednesday, making his first appearance since Boston's season opener on October 8th. Korpisalo struggled in his Bruins debut, allowing six goals on 35 shots as Boston suffered a 6-4 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. Georgiev will start against the Bruins on Wednesday. For the fourth straight game to start the season, the winless Avalanche (0-3-0) will turn to Georgiev between the pipes again. Georgiev has struggled immensely early in the 2024-25 campaign, including being pulled twice, posting an abysmal 6.58 GAA and .787 SV% in three outings (0-2-0). The 28-year-old Georgiev had a forgetful 2023-24 season as well, showcasing a 3.02 GAA and .897 SV% in 63 games (38-18-5). If Georgiev can't turn his game around soon, it likely won't be long before Jared Bednar and the Avalanche coaching staff give Justus Annunen a chance to overtake the starting position in goal. Dostal was excellent in the Ducks' season opener and will return to the crease for the second time this season on Wednesday night against the Utah Hockey Club. The 24-year-old Dostal had stretches of excellent play last season, ending his campaign with a modest 3.33 GAA and .902 SV% in 44 contests (14-23-3). The Czech netminder recorded a 30-save shutout in his only appearance this season but his Ducks rank as +134 home underdogs against a Utah HC team that that has scored five or more goals in three of their four games (3-1-0).
