Boston Bruins News

Swayman will start in Edmonton on Wednesday.

Linus Ullmark had a rough outing in his last contest, allowing five goals on 35 shots (.857 SV%) in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Kings, opening the door for Swayman to break Boston's typical goalie rotation and start back-to-back games. Swayman was spectacular against the Stars on Monday, stopping 43 of the 46 shots he faced enroute to a 4-3 shootout victory. The Bruins enter action as +118 road underdogs against the Edmonton Oilers and their fifth-ranked offense (3.56 GF / GP).

Korpisalo will start on Tuesday vs. Florida.

Korpisalo will man the Senators' crease for the third time in four games after backing up Anton Forsberg in Ottawa's previous game. The 29-year-old is in the first of a five-year, $20 million contract in the offseason and has been highly underperforming with his 13-18-2 record, 3.41 GAA and .887 SV%. He takes on one of the NHL's hottest teams in Florida, who has won five straight and nine of their last 10 while leading the NHL in shots on goal per game (34.0).

Poitras (shoulder) was placed on Injured Reserve on Tuesday but is still expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Poitras missed the Bruins' previous game before the All-Star break due to the injury and did practice in full on Sunday, but the team and Poitras have opted for surgery to repair his injured shoulder, bringing a premature end to his rookie season. The 19-year-old rookie left the Bruins briefly in December to attend this year's World Jr Tournament and has made a solid impact in his rookie season with five goals and 15 points in 33 games played.

The 30-year-old defenseman is a key piece in Boston's impressive defensive unit and has a goal, 18 assists, 73 SOG, 54 PIMs and a +19 plus/minus through 57 games this season.

Swayman will start on Monday vs. Dallas.

As has been the case most of the season, the Bruins will continue to alternate goalies and turn to Swayman on Monday after Ullmark played on Saturday. Swayman has a sub-.900 SV% in two of his last three games (0-3-0), a rarity for the All-Star netminder. The Bruins are -134 home favourites against a Dallas Stars club without their number one defenceman Miro Heiskanen (personal).

Swayman will start against the Kraken on Thursday.

As has been the case most of the season, Swayman will tend the twine on Thursday, replacing Linus Ullmark, the starter in the Bruins' previous contest. Swayman has lost consecutive games in regulation, a first-time occurrence for the All-Star netminder, allowing six goals on 57 shots and posting an uncharacteristically low .895 SV%. That said, the Bruins are -181 home favourites against a Seattle Kraken club with only three wins in their last 10 games (3-6-1).

Korpisalo will start against the Ducks on Thursday.

Korpisalo had the night off on Tuesday, a 6-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, but will return to the crease on Thursday as the Senators attempt to extend their four-game winning streak. Korpisalo has been excellent lately, winning three straight while allowing three or fewer goals in each and posting a .935 SV%. The Senators are sizeable -202 home favourites against an Anaheim Ducks squad that was limited to only 13 shots on goal in their last contest, a 5-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
