The Bruins have assigned Patrick Brown to Providence (AHL).

Brown suited up on the fourth line on Thursday and had two shots and a minus-1 rating in 12:42 TOI. He'll be replaced by either Tyler Johnson, who was a healthy scratch on Thursday or Georgii Merkulov/Riley Tufte, who were recalled from the AHL in a corresponding move. Brown has seven points (3G / 4A) in 12 AHL games this season.

Merkulov has enjoyed a strong start to his AHL season, tying for the team lead with 11 points (2G / 9A) in 12 games. The Bruins are looking to add some offence to their lineup, so Merkulov could make his season debut. He failed to record a point in four NHL games a season ago.

Jeannot will return on Saturday vs. Detroit from his three game suspension.

Jeannot struck Brock Boeser of the Vancouver Canucks with an illegal hit to the head during last Thursday, resulting in a three-game suspension. It is the first suspension of Jeannot's career. He will return to the lineup on Saturday, November 16th against the Detroit Red Wings.

Arvidsson (undisclosed) is out vs. Nashville on Thursday and considered day-to-day.

Arvidsson is battling an undisclosed ailment and will miss his first game of the season on Thursday against the Nashville Predators. Most recently, the 31-year-old Arvidsson has been suiting up on a line with Leon Draisatl after struggling to find success in the early going of his first season with the Oilers, scoring five points (2G / 3A) in his first 16 games. Travis Dermott will draw into the Oilers lineup as Arvidsson's replacement with the team switching to an 11-forward, seven-defenseman formation.

Swayman will start in Dallas on Thursday.

The Bruins, fresh off a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday, will turn to Swayman between the pipes for a third straight game. The 25-year-old Swayman is sporting a pedestrian 3.03 GAA and .896 SV% in 12 games (5-5-2). The Bruins enter the action on Thursday as +150 road underdogs against a Dallas Stars team that defeated them 5-2 three weeks ago when Swayman allowed four goals on 31 shots (.871 SV%).

Steeves is an undrafted 24-year-old from St. Paul, Minnesota with seven games of NHL experience in his career. He has become an offensive standout at the AHL level, with 12 points (9G / 3A) in 10 games with the Toronto Marlies (AHL) this season. Nicholas Robertson will serve as a healthy scratch on Wednesday, allowing Steeves to draw into the lineup.

Arvidsson is battling an undisclosed ailment and could be at jeopardy of missing his first game of the season on Thursday against the Nashville Predators. Lindholm suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Blue and did not return. The 30-year-old defenseman was averaging 20:51 time-on-ice and had seven points (3G / 4A) in 17 games this season. Boston recalled Jordan Oesterle from the Providence Bruins (AHL) in a corresponding move.

The Bruins will turn to Swayman between the pipes for the fourth time in the last five games. Partially a byproduct of poor team play, Swayman has struggled this season, posting a 3.13 GAA and .896 SV% in 11 outings (4-5-2), a far cry from the 2.53 GAA and .916 SV% he recorded in 44 games last season (25-10-8) to help him secure an eight-year, $66 million contract extension. That said, the Bruins enter the action on Tuesday as -168 road favorites against a St. Louis Blues club coming off a disastrous 8-1 loss to the Washington Capitals.
