The 21-year-old forward has spent the last four seasons playing collegiate hockey with Notre Dame and scored 31 points (20G / 11A) in 36 games this season.

The Blackhawks have won three of their last four and will give Soderblom his third start in the last five games on Friday. Soderblom has won two straight, saving 69 of the last 75 shots he's faced (.920 SV%). The 24-year-old Soderblom has a 3.88 GAA and .879 SV% through 25 games this season (4-18-1).

Byram was acquired from Colorado in a one-for-one deal for Casey Mittlestadt on Wednesday and will make his Sabres' debut on Thursday in Nashville. The 22-year-old offensive defenseman is expected to pair with Rasmus Dahlin out of the gate and will hope to add to his eight goals, 20 points, 40 PIMs and 63 SOG through 40 games played this season.

The Sabres have acquired Bowen Byram from the Avalanche for Casey Mittelstadt.

The Sabres blueline will be a treat for years to come after acquiring Byram on Wednesday, adding to an already talented core of Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Power. Byram was having a down year offensively with the Avalanche, with 20 points (8G / 12A) in 55 games this season.
