Mrazek will likely start for the third time in four games on Tuesday when the Blackhawks visit the high-flying Edmonton Oilers. Mrazek has been tremendous in his last two games, saving 75 of 76 shots (.987 SV%) in victories against the St. Louis Blues and Anaheim Ducks, but will have a much more daunting task ahead of him on Tuesday. The Blackhawks are significant +387 road underdogs against an Edmonton Oilers team that has won seven straight games.

Sanford played one game with the Coyotes earlier this season, recording one point (0G / 1A), but has spent most of his time with the Tuscon Roadrunners of the AHL, where he has four points (1G / 3A) in 16 games. In a corresponding move, Ryan McGregor has been reassigned to Tuscon.

Reichel was a healthy scratch in the Blackhawks' 4-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Sunday but will return to the lineup to skate on a line with Ryan Donato and Mackenzie Entwistle. The 17th overall pick of the Blackhawks in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft has struggled to find his footing this season, scoring only six points (2G / 4A) and registering a -17 plus/minus through 22 games.

Martinez has not played since November 19th due to a lower-body injury and will miss at least the next two games as he will not travel with the Golden Knights on their upcoming two-game road trip. Before his injury, the 36-year-old veteran defender was finding the back of the net more often than usual, as he had three goals, one assist, 18 SOG, two PIMs and a +1 plus/minus in 14 games.

Workhorse Connor Hellebuyck will have the day off on Tuesday when Laurent Brossoit suits up for the Jets against the Carolina Hurricanes. Brossoit has been serviceable but unspectacular in limited action this season, posting a 2.97 GAA and .877 SV% in five games (2-2-1). He owns a sub-.900 SV% in each of his five games and will be hard-pressed to break that trend on Tuesday as the Jets are +127 home underdogs against the Hurricanes, who have scored four or more goals in five of their last seven contests (5-1-1).

Mrazek will return to Chicago's crease on Sunday after Arvid Soderblom got the nod in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to the Jets. Mrazek is coming off a disappointing performance in Thursday night's game in Detroit, allowing five goals on just 29 shots in the 5-1 loss. He draws another difficult matchup on Sunday with the Blackhawks being +240 underdogs in Minnesota.
