Soderblom will start Friday in New Jersey.

Soderblom will draw the Blackhawks' crease for a second-straight game as he tries to break a perosnal seven game losing streak on the road in New Jersey Friday. The 24-year-old sophomore has been terrible yet again in 2023-24, with wins only against the Toronto Maple Leafs leading to his 2-12-1 record, 4.07 GAA and .874 SV%. He heads to New Jersey to take on the Devils, who have won four of their last five matchups and are sixth in the NHL in goals per game (3.53).

Petr Mrazek started the last three games for the Blackhawks, but after allowing 11 goals in his last two starts, the team will turn to Soderblom on Tuesday. Soderblom has not recorded a victory in seven appearances (0-5-1), posting an ugly .846 SV%. The Blackhawks are sizeable +247 road underdogs against a Predators team that has struggled lately, losing three of their last four (1-2-1), but defeated the Blackhawks 4-3 in a shootout on December 5th.

Andre Burakovsky (upper body) is a game-time decision Friday vs. Anaheim but has been activated off the Injured Reserve.

Burakovsky is making significant progress, participating in practice for Seattle and appears to have an imminent return on the horizon after being activated off the Injured Reserve Friday. Burakovsky returned to the lineup from a six-week absence early in December but was immediately injured in his return and has missed three weeks since.

Kevin Korchinski (personal) will draw back into the Blackhawks' lineup Friday vs. Montreal.

Korchinski has not played since December 7th, missing five games while tending to personal matters. The seventh overall pick of the Blackhawks in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft has seven points (2G / 5A) while averaging 19:31 time-on-ice in his rookie season. Wyatt Kaiser and Filip Roos will both be healthy scratches on the blue line for the Blackhawks.

Soderblom will likely start on Thursday and hope to rebound after allowing four goals on 27 shots (.852 SV%) in a 4-2 loss to the Washington Capitals in his last start. The Blackhawks have struggled in all facets this season, but Soderblom has easily been the weaker of two goalies, recording only two of the team's nine wins and posting an ugly 3.66 GAA and .882 SV%. Soderblom and the Blackhawks will see one of their better matchups this season on Thursday but are still +207 road underdogs against the Seattle Kraken, who rank fourth-worst in the league offensively (2.57 GF / GP) and have lost eight of their last nine games (1-6-2).
