Mrazek stopped 24 of 26 shots in the Hurricanes 3-2 win over the Rangers in Game 1. In typical Hurricanes fashion, Henrik Lundqvist was a lot busier in the first game of the series but Mrazek stood tall when he was called upon. Mrazek is now 6-5-0 with an .896 SV% in 12 career playoff games with the Hurricanes.

Khudobin surrendered two goals on 27 shots in the Stars loss to the Oilers on Tuesday. Khudobin has lost two straight but will start his third consecutive game tonight in Nashville. Khudobin is 10-6-3 with a 2.57 GAA and .925 SV% on the road this year. One of those wins came in Nashville in mid-December, when he stopped 37 of 38 shots in a 4-1 win.
Hurricanes GM Don Waddell addressed the media on Tuesday and said Mrazek is at least one more week with a concussion. The Hurricanes have gone 0-2-1 while giving up 11 goals (3.67 GA/gm) since Mrazek and James Reimer got hurt.
Khudobin gave up three goals on 29 shots in the Stars loss in St. Louis on Saturday. With Ben Bishop day-to-day with a lower-body injury, Khudobin will make his 25th start of the season tonight. He has been excellent in his last seven starts, going 5-0-2 with a 2.07 GAA and .934 SV%. He draws a tough matchup tonight vs. an Oilers team that is getting healthy and is coming off of an 8-goal performance last night in Nashville.
Shaw has been out since November 30th and will miss the final 18 games of the season with lingering concussion issues. Missing such a lengthy period of time with a concussion is obviously not a good sign and hopefully, Shaw will be ready to return to the NHL at the start of the 2021 campaign.
Athanasiou was hurt in his second game with the Oilers but avoided serious injury and could play Saturday. Athanasiou has picked up two points (1G / 1A) and three shots on goal in his first two games on Connor McDavid's wing.
Maroon was not on the ice for the morning skate and will not play tonight vs. the Blackhawks. Carter Verhaeghe will draw into the lineup to replace Maroon, who should be considered day-to-day.
Khudobin stopped 31 of 32 shots in the Stars win over the Blackhawks on Sunday. Khudobin has yet to lose in regulation in February, going 4-0-1 with a 2.11 GAA and .931 SV% in six games (five starts). One of those games came against the Hurricanes, who he'll face again tonight--he stopped 24 of 25 shots in a 4-1 win that night.
Brossoit stopped 29 of 30 shots in the Jets’ win in Ottawa last Thursday. Brossoit has been terrific in his last two starts, going 2-0-0 while stopping 54 of the 57 shots (.947 SV%) that he has faced. Tonight he faces a Capitals team that has gone 2-4-1 while averaging 3.43 goals for and 4.29 goals against in their last seven home games.
