There is no timeline for a Landeskog return, and he was skating alone, but it was still encouraging to see him at the Avalanche practice facility on Thursday. Landeskog missed the entire 2022-23 regular season as he recovered from knee surgery and followed that up with a cartilage transplant in his right knee during the offseason. The 30-year-old has 571 points (248G/323A) and a +77 plus/minus across 738 career NHL games.

Kylington will have the opportunity to see some game action with the Calgary Wranglers after not playing a single professional game since the 2021-22 season. That year, Kylington scored 31 points (9G / 22A) in 73 games with the Flames.

The 32-year-old Wagner has not played a single game this season and will report to the Colorado Eagles of the AHL if he clears waivers. Last season with the Providence Bruins (AHL), Wagner scored 31 points (19G / 12A) in 62 games.

Sam Malinski drew into the lineup on Monday for Manson, who will be unavailable again for the Avalanche on Wednesday. Manson has been an effective contributor over the last couple of weeks with five points (3G / 2A), 18 shots on goal, and 24 hits in his last seven games.

Wood did not play on Saturday, was a game-time decision on Monday, and has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights as he battles the flu. Wood was very effective in a top-six role in his last outing, scoring one point (0G / 1A) and firing three shots on goal in 15:31 time-on-ice.

Despite posting very pedestrian totals over the last month, Georgiev will make his 12th consecutive start for the Avalanche on Wednesday. During that stretch, his teammates have provided him with ample goal support, leading him to an 8-2-1 record while allowing three or more goals eight times, masking an ugly .881 SV%. Valeri Nischushkin has been the main benefactor, occupying Lehkonen's offensive deployment, scoring 32 points (18G / 14A) in 26 games since.

Malinski has had some success with the Avalanche earlier this season and will get another chance to showcase his talents as he was recalled on an emergency basis on Monday. In 14 games with the Avalanche, Malinski has five points (1G / 4A), 15 shots, and 15 blocks.
