Talbot will start on Friday vs. Montreal.

Talbot has been sidelined most of December due to a lower-body injury but will return to the crease for his second start in eight games. The 32-year-old Lyon has a 2.74 GAA and .911 SV% in nine appearances (4-4-0) this season. The Red Wings enter Wednesday's contest as slight -108 home favorites against a Philadelphia Flyers club that has lost five of their last six games (2-3-1)

Talbot returned from a four-game absence on Thursday and saved 32 of 34 shots (.941 SV%) in a 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, but tweaked something at practice the following day and has been out of the lineup since. Alex Lyon (lower body) is also nearing a return to the lineup but Ville Husso has been the Red Wings starting netminder in the interim.
