Petry recorded a -3 plus/minus on Thursday, playing only 14:08 in the Red Wings 5-4 overtime loss at the hands of the Ottawa Senators and will be a healthy scratch for the team's matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday. The 35-year-old has six points (0G / 6A) in 11 games this season and will be replaced by Justin Holl on the back end.

Holl did not skate for the Red Wings in yesterday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators but is expected to be back in the lineup against his former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, on Friday. Holl spent the first six seasons of his career with the Maple Leafs before signing with the Red Wings this past offseason. In 12 games, Holl has three points (0G / 3A), averaging 16:21 time-on-ice, over four minutes less than his average over the previous three seasons with the Maple Leafs.

He draws a tough home matchup against the Panthers on Thursday with the Kings only being slight favourites at -130.

Lyon signed a two-year, $1.8 million ($900,000 AAV) contract with Detroit in the offseason but has yet to make an appearance after 16 games. The 30-year-old veteran netminder had an inspirational run to the playoffs with Florida in 2022-23, where he put up a 9-4-2 record, .914 SV% and 2.89 GAA. He will take on the Maple Leafs as part of Detroit's second game of the Global Series, who has won their last two games and are ninth in the NHL in goals per game (3.53).

Husso gave up five goals on 32 shots in the Red Wings loss in New York on Tuesday. The 2023-24 season has been a struggle so far for Husso, who has allowed at least three goals in eight of nine starts while posting a 3.57 GAA and .890 SV%. On Saturday, he'll take on a Blue Jackets team that hast lost three in a row and seven of their last eight, but are expected to get Patrik Laine back in the lineup.

Talbot will start the front end of a back-to-bad for the Kings as they take on their division rivals, the Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday. Talbot has been tremendous between the pipes for the Kings and is coming off his first shutout of the season, a 24-save, 5-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. The veteran goalie has helped his team pick up a point in his last five games (4-0-1) while saving an impressive 121 of 128 shots (.945 SV%). However, the Kings will have their work cut out for them as +113 road underdogs against the league-leading Golden Knights.

Campbell has cleared waivers and been assigned to the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL. After 41 unimpressive games with the Oilers over the past two seasons, Campbell has posted a lacklustre 3.53 GAA and .886 SV%, leading to his placement on waivers on Tuesday. The Oilers, who were largely considered to be Stanley Cup contenders to start the season, are off to a dreadful start, winning only two of their first 11 games (2-8-1). The Oilers will likely recall Calvin Pickard from Bakersfield (AHL) once Campbell clears waivers and will turn to Stuart Skinner for starting duties in the interim.

Petry will draw back into the Red Wings' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rangers.

Petry returns to the lineup in place of Justin Holl, who will be a healthy scratch on Tuesday. Petry has registered three assists, 12 blocked shots, and 10 hits in seven games this season with the Red Wings.

Fischer has played primarily on the fourth line with Austin Czarnik and Klim Kostin, recording one point (0G / 1A), 11 shots, and 18 hits through 11 games with the Red Wings. He will return to the lineup after sitting out Saturday's game against the Bruins due to the upper-body injury.
