The Red Wings have recalled Danny O'Regan from Grand Rapids (AHL) under emergency conditions.

O'Regan had 17 goals, 31 assists, 16 PIMs and a -21 plus/minus in 64 games between Grand Rapids (AHL) and San Diego (AHL) but has been recalled to Detroit under emergency conditions Tuesday. The 29-year-old centre has previously played in 30 NHL games before this season, picking up a goal and five assists.

The Red Wings have reassigned Simon Edvinsson to Grand Rapids (AHL).

Edvinsson played his ninth NHL game of the season on Monday, so he'll go to the AHL for the rest of the season to preserve the first year of his entry-level contract. Edvinsson had two goals in games with Detroit and returned to AHL, where he has 27 points (5G / 22A) in 51 games.

Husso allowed five goals on 28 shots (.821 SV%) for his fifth-loss in six games as he was beaten easily by the Pittsburgh Penguins his last time out. The 28-year-old has had a very up-and-down first season in Detroit, with his 26-20-7 record, 3.05 GAA and .898 SV%. He takes on the Dallas Stars, who have won three straight and are seventh in the NHL in goals per game (3.41).

He will draw the tough task of the Toronto Maple Leafs, who have won three of their last five games and have the second-best powerplay in the NHL (26.1).

Husso was perfect in the Red Wings' previous game, stopping all 24 of 24 shots for his fourth shutout of the season as he blanked the Montreal Canadiens. The 28-year-old has had an up-and-down first season in Detroit, with his 26-19-6 record, 2.96 GAA and .901 SV%. He takes on the Buffalo Sabres, who have won four of their last six games and are third in the NHL in goals per game (3.55).
