Talbot has been the only reliable netminder for the Kings this season and as such, appears to be the starter on Thursday against the Ottawa Senators. In seven games (4-2-1), Talbot has a respectable 2.47 GAA and .914 SV% but has been even more impressive of late, allowing only five goals (.936 SV%) in his last three contests (2-0-1). The Kings are slight -109 road favourites against a Senators team that, despite an unremarkable 4-4-0 start, has had no trouble scoring goals, ranking fifth in the league offensively (4.00 GF / GP).

Gibson was injured against the Pittsburgh Penguins after making a heroic save on Sidney Crosby late in the first period and will be out indefinitely. Gibson has a 2.82 GAA and .902 SV% in five games (1-3-0) and has been alternating starts with Lukas Dostal, who should see the majority of action while Gibson is sidelined.

Mitchell was recalled along with Mason Lohrei and Parker Wotherspoon to aid a Bruins' blueline that is currently without Charlie McAvoy (suspension) and Matt Grzelcyk (upper body). Mitchell was the 57th overall pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and already had a two-game stint with the Bruins earlier this season, recording one point (0G / 1A) and four penalty minutes.

Talbot will start for the Kings on Tuesday as they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs. Talbot, who has a 2.72 GAA and .905 SV% through six games (3-2-1), has been the clear favourite between the pipes for the Kings as backup Phoenix Copley has struggled tremendously with a horrid 4.98 GAA and .788 SV% through three games (1-0-1). The Kings are +140 road underdogs against a Maple Leafs team that has points in four straight games (3-0-1).

Gibson will start for the Ducks on Monday as Greg Cronin and the coaching staff seem intent on continuing their even rotation between him and Lukas Dostal. Thus far, Dostal has outperformed Gibson but even so, Gibson has put together a respectable 2.81 GAA and .905 SV% through four games (1-3-0), both better totals than he has amassed in the past five seasons. Gibson and the Ducks will try to hold things together defensively as +211 road underdogs against a Pittsburgh Penguins team that is 3-5-0 this season.

Holl currently sits tied for 10th in the NHL with his +7 plus/minus but is the odd man out of the Red Wings lineup Monday as they take on the New York Rangers. The 31-year-old defenseman was signed to a three-year, $10.2 million contract in the off-season and has three assists, one SOG, 10 PIMs, and a +7 plus/minus in eight games so far in 2023-24.

Lagesson was called up on Friday from the Marlies (AHL), likely to replace Jake McCabe, who was injured after playing only 10 seconds on Friday and has been ruled out for the Maple Leafs Saturday night matchup against the Nashville Predators. In five games with the Marlies this season, Lagesson has one point (0G / 1A) and a -2 plus/minus rating.

DeBrincat was absent from Wednesday's morning skate due to illness but did skate Thursday and was a game-time decision vs. Winnipeg. The 25-year-old has been off to an absurd start during his Detroit tenure as he leads the NHL in goals (9) and is third in points (13) while adding 23 SOG and a +6 plus/minus across seven games thus far in 2023-24.

Gibson returns to the Ducks' crease for Thursday's game against the Bruins after Lukas Dostal got the nod in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime victory over the Blue Jackets. Gibson has performed admirably to open the campaign with a .907 SV% and a 2.72 GAA through his first three starts, but a lack of goal support still leaves him searching for his first win of the season. Things won't get any easier for Gibson tonight with the Ducks being a +250 road underdog in Boston.

Mitchell was placed on waivers Wednesday but has been assigned to Providence (AHL) after he passed through unclaimed on Thursday. The 24-year-old had an assist, four PIMs and a +1 plus/minus in two games played with Boston this season. Mitchell was a piece of the trade which saw Taylor Hall head to Chicago in the offseason.

DeBrincat's status for the Red Wings Thursday night matchup against the Winnipeg Jets will be determined closer to puck drop. DeBrincat is off to a blistering start, scoring 13 points (9G / 4A) in his first seven games this season.

Bernard-Docker was recalled by Ottawa after a brief two-game stint with Belleville (AHL) where he had zero points and a +1 plus/minus rating. The 26th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft has two points (0G / 2A) in 33 career NHL games across the last four seasons. He is projected to play alongside Thomas Chabot on the Senators' third defensive pairing.
