Daws allowed six goals on just 26 shots in the 6-2 defeat, ending a run of four straight starts where the the 23-year-old netminder posted a .931 SV% or better. Daws owns a 6-7-0 record in 13 starts on the season to go along with a .903 SV% and a 3.18 GAA. He draws a difficult assignment on Thursday at home against the Rangers, though New York could be without Artemi Panarin (lower-body).

The Devils will turn to Daws for the fifth-consecutive game when the team travels to Washington to take on the Capitals on Tuesday night. Daws has been outstanding since filling in for the injured Vitek Vanecek (lower-body), compiling a 3-1-0 record across his last four starts, posting a .942 SV% in the process. He turned in a fantastic performance in the outdoor game against the Flyers on Saturday, stopping 45 of the 48 shots he faced enroute to a 6-3 victory. Daws and the Devils look poised to stay in the win column on Tuesday as they find themselves as -165 favourites over the Capitals.
