Markstrom allowed four goals on 22 shots (.818 SV%) for his second-straight loss as he was defeated by the Colorado Avalanche in his last start. The 33-year-old has been horrendous this season, holding one of the leagues lowest SV%'s (.887 SV%) alongside his 15-15-8 record, and 2.96 GAA. He will face the Toronto Maple Leafs, who snapped a three-game winning streak with a 5-2 loss to Edmonton last night.

Timo Meier is likely out Wednesday says head coach Lindy Ruff.

Meier will have to wait to make his New Jersey debut after head coach Lindy Ruff announced it was unlikely he would join the lineup Wednesday. The 26-year-old had 31 goals, 52 points and 255 SOG through 57 games with the Sharks prior to being traded.

Allen stopped 24 of 26 shots (.923 SV%) for his third win in four games as he beat Philadelphia in his previous start. The 32-year-old has struggled all season, with his 13-18-2 record, 3.42 GAA and .895 SV%. He will face the San Jose Sharks, who have lost five of their last six games after a 4-3 shootout loss to Chicago last game.

Kurtis MacDermid will miss Monday's game vs. Vegas (concussion).

MacDermid left the Avalanche's previous game after 3:49 TOI due to a concussion after fighting Milan Lucic and will now miss Monday's game vs. Vegas as he remains in concussion protocol. The 28-year-old bruiser has four assists, 14 SOG, 49 PIMs and was a -2 plus/minus prior to the injury.

The Devils have acquired Timur Ibragimov, Timo Meier, Scott Harrington, Santeri Hatakka, Zachary Emond, and a 2024 5th Round Pick from the Sharks for Shakir Mukhamadullin, Fabian Zetterlund, Nikita Okhotyuk, Andreas Johnsson, a Conditional 2023 1st Round Pick, a Conditional 2024 2nd Round Pick and a 2024 7th Round Pick.

Ibragimov was a sixth-round pick in 2019 and came to North America in 2022 after spending the 2021 season in Finland. Ibragimov has spent the entire season in the ECHL, picking up 11 goals and 21 assists (32 points) in 53 games.

Emond was a sixth-round pick in 2018 and has appeared in just four games this season with Wichita (ECHL). During his time in the AHL a season ago, Emond was 3-4-2 with a 4.48 GAA and .867 SV%.

Hatakka appeared in nine games with the Sharks a season ago but missed most of this year due to injury. He's spent the entire season in the AHL, picking up two assists in eight games. He'll likely report to Binghamton (AHL).

The Devils have acquired Timo Meier, Scott Harrington, Santeri Hatakka, Zachary Emond, Timur Ibragimov, and a 2024 5th Round Pick from the Sharks for Shakir Mukhamadullin, Fabian Zetterlund, Nikita Okhotyuk, Andreas Johnsson, a Conditional 2023 1st Round Pick, a Conditional 2024 2nd Round Pick and a 2024 7th Round Pick.

Meier enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2022, scoring 35 goals with 41 assists (76 points) in 77 games. He carried that over into 2023, picking up 31 goals and 21 assists (52 points) in 57 games while ranking third in the NHL in shots on goal (255). In New Jersey, Meier could slot in on a line with fellow Swiss native Nico Hischier. This solidifies the Devils' top-6, with Meier and Hischier driving one line and Jack Hughes on the other. Meier should also bolster their top power-play unit, which is currently 19th in the NHL (20.5%).

Allen allowed five goals on 41 shots (.878 SV%) for his first loss in three starts as he was defeated by the Toronto Maple Leafs his last time out. The 32-year-old has struggled all season, with his 12-18-2 record, .894 SV% and 3.47 GAA. He'll take on the Philadelphia Flyers, who have lost five of their last six games after a 4-2 loss to Edmonton last game.

Timo Meier will not play Thursday vs. Nashville as he deals with a lingering upper-body injury.

Meier missed the Sharks' previous game due to an upper-body injury and will stay out of the lineup Thursday as they take on Nashville. The 26-year-old is San Jose's main trade chip at the moment and is having an incredibly strong season with 31 goals, 21 assists, 255 SOG, -19 plus/minus and 25 PIMs across 57 games prior to the injury.
