Bernier will start Saturday afternoon in New Jersey.

Bernier made 49 saves on 52 shots in the Red Wings win in Carolina last Saturday. Bernier struggled early in his Red Wings career, but has since won two of his last three while stopping 115 of the last 124 shots (.927 SV%) that he has faced. This afternoon he faces a Devils team that is tied for 15th in goals for (3.06 GF/pg).

Allen will start Friday in Vegas.

Allen allowed one goal on 19 shots in the Blues loss in Chicago on Wednesday. It was a solid outing for Allen, who was on the verge of losing his starting job last week. He will make his second straight start tonight in Vegas, who he stopped 31 shots against in a win on November 1st.

The Coyotes have recalled Robbie Russo from Tucson (AHL).

Russo, 25, has registered eight assists in 13 games with Tucson this season. The former fourth-round pick has been called up because the Coyotes blueline is without Jakob Chychrun, Alex Goligoski and Jason Demers, who was injured last night. Russo has no points in 19 career NHL games (all with the Red Wings).

Allen will start Wednesday in Chicago.

Allen allowed five goals on 45 shots in the Blues 5-1 loss to Minnesota on November 3rd. Chad Johnson ended up starting all three games last week, but Allen will start the first game this week. The 28-year-old has already faced the Blackhawks three times this season, going 1-0-2 with a putrid 4.34 GAA and .879 SV%.

The Golden Knights have placed Erik Haula (lower-body) on IR.

Haula was stretchered off of the ice in Toronto on November 6th, but his injury remains a bit of a mystery. TSN’s Bob McKenzie reported that Haula’s injury is complex and the Golden Knights won’t know the full extent of the injury until he receives second and third medical opinions. It sounds like the second-line centre will miss at least a couple of months.

Markstrom will start against the Islanders on Tuesday.

Markstrom will make his second start in as many nights after getting the nod against the Rangers on Monday. He stopped 25 of 27 shots as the Canucks fell short by a score of 2-1. He continues to be leaned on heavily by coach Travis Green despite a lackluster .900 SV% on the season. He draws a difficult matchup tonight against a high-scoring Islanders team.

Markstrom will start Monday in New York.

Markstrom allowed three goals on 37 shots in the Canucks loss in Buffalo on Saturday. Markstrom has gone 4-1-2 with a 3.45 GAA and .888 SV% in seven starts since Anders Nilsson got hurt. Tonight he will face a Rangers team without two of their top wingers, but Markstrom is 2-2-2 with a 3.53 GAA and .889 SV% on the road.

Jacob Markstrom
Pesce (lower-body) will not play Monday vs. Chicago.

Pesce is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury that he suffered against the Red Wings on Saturday. Pesce was reportedly injured in a knee-on-knee collision, but is not expected to be sidelined long-term. With Pesce out, Trevor van Riemsdyk will draw back into the lineup on Monday.

Brett Pesce
Bernier will start Saturday in Carolina.

Bernier allowed four goals on 42 shots in the Red Wings loss to the Oilers last Saturday. Bernier’s career in Detroit has gotten off to a rough start, posting a 4.20 GAA and .873 SV% in his first five games. He’ll be in tough again tonight with the Red Wings on the tail-end of a back-to-back against on of the best 5v5 teams in the NHL.
