Markstrom made 30 saves on 31 shots in the Canucks win over the Bruins on Saturday. Anders Nilsson started Monday, but they’ll come back to Markstrom tonight in Vegas. He is coming off of his best performance of the year, but has a tough matchup in Vegas—the Golden Knights are 31-11-2 in their first 44 games on home-ice.
Allen stopped 22 of 23 shots in the Blues win in Toronto on Saturday. It was a big win for Allen, who is now 2-2-2 with a 3.44 GAA and .886 SV% in his first six starts of the season. Tonight he faces the Jets for the first time since opening night, when he allowed five goals on 25 shots in 5-1 loss.
Dowling has recorded two goals and four assists (six points) in seven games with Texas this season. The 28-year-old centre has registered just two assists in nine career NHL games.

Bratt is a week and a half into a 2-3 week timetable with a fractured jaw. Bratt will return to the ice on Thursday and should re-join his teammates for practice this weekend or early next week.
Hischier left Monday’s practice with a lower-body issue that he suffered while blocking a shot in their last game. Hischier is good-to-go vs. the Stars and comes into play with two assists in three games.
Bernier allowed three goals on 24 shots in the Red Wings loss in Los Angeles last Sunday. Jimmy Howard started each of the last two games, but will give way to Bernier this afternoon in Boston. The Red Wings don’t have the firepower to match-up with the Bruins, making Bernier a risky option on a busy Saturday.

Bernier inked a deal with the Red Wings this season and will start tonight vs. the team that drafted him back in 2006. The Red Wings have a very inexperienced blueline in front of him, making the 30-year-old a risky option on the last night of the week.
