Vanecek will start for the third straight game on Thursday night when the Devils host the Calgary Flames. Vanecek was terrific in his last outing, snapping a two-game losing skid by limiting the high-scoring Colorado Avalanche to only three goals on 38 shots (.921 SV%) in a 5-3 victory. The Devils enter action as -137 home favourites despite the Flames carrying momentum from a 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.

Sorokin will likely return to the crease on Thursday after a solid performance in his last outing. The talented netminder saved 35 of 37 shots (.946 SV%) in a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday, only his second win in his last seven outings. The rested Islanders are -139 home favourites against a Tampa Bay Lighting club that played last night and was defeated 3-1 by the New York Rangers.

Cizikas (lower body) was a full participant in practice Wednesday and is a game-time decision Thursday.

Cizikas has been out of the lineup since January 9th due to a lower-body injury but appears just about ready to return to the lineup on Thursday. The 32-year-old is producing at a similar rate to his previous seasons, with 11 points (5G/6A) in 39 games played before his injury.

Pulock suffered a lower-body injury on December 7th and has been on long-term injured reserve since. After missing 24 games, Pulock will draw back into the lineup on Monday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has six points (2G / 4A), 37 hits, and 66 blocks in 25 games this season.

The Islanders defeated the Maple Leafs 4-3 three weeks ago but are +139 road underdogs on Monday night.

Chaffee has been recalled from Syracuse (AHL).

Chaffee was returned to Syracuse (AHL) for the All-Star break but has been deservedly returned to Tampa Bay on Monday. The 26-year-old had only appeared in two NHL games previous to this season and picked up his first career points on January 25th, 2024 this season. Through three games and only 8:25 average TOI he has a goal and an assist to go along with his +1 plus/minus.
