Tonight he will face a Rangers team that is in the middle of a six-game losing skid, going 0-2-4 in the process.

Varlamov has been average as of late but is a great option vs. the Red Wings—he stopped all 24 shots that he faced in a 2-0 shutout win in his first start against Detroit.
