Karlsson (illness) missed practice Friday and is hopeful to play Saturday vs. Vegas.

Karlsson was the only surprise absent player at Pittsburgh's practice Friday as he missed it due to illness and will hope to be good to go for Saturday as the Penguins head to Vegas. The 33-year-old was acquired by Pittsburgh in a blockbuster deal during the offseason after winning the Norris Trophy in 2022-23 and has a decent seven goals, 31 points, 102 SOG, 24 PIMs and +10 plus/minus through 42 games played.

Bemstrom appears to be a healthy scratch Friday vs. New Jersey.

Bemstrom has been a regular in the lineup for the Blue Jackets over the last month, but he will be a healthy scratch on Friday against the New Jersey Devils. He has been limited to one point (1G / 0A) in his last seven games but has three or more shots in three of his last four outings.

Tomasino will not be suspended for his five minute major from Thursday night.

Tomasino was originally suspended indefinetly by the NHL for a dirty hit in the Predators' game Thursday but has been deemed good to play Saturday as he will not be punished further for his actions. The 22-year-old has been having a decent offensive season to start 2023-24, with four goals, 11 assists, 47 SOG, 25 PIMs and a -2 plus/minus in 31 games this season.
