Daccord will start for the Kraken on Tuesday, giving him three of the team's last five starts. The 27-year-old has never had more than six starts in a season but seems to be well on his way to surpass that as he has gained the trust of the Kraken coaching staff. In two games (1-0-1), Daccord has a .240 GAA and .918 SV% and could continue to see a fair share of action in the crease if he continues to give his team a chance to win every night. He will have his work cut out for him tonight though, as the Kraken visit the high-scoring Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings are averaging a league-best 5.00 goals scored per game.

Burakovsky suffered the injury after sustaining a hit from the Rangers Jacob Trouba in the second period of Saturday's game and did not return. It's another tough blow for Burakovsky who entered the campaign with a clean bill of health following a season-ending groin injury last February. Devin Shore is expected to play in place of Burakovsky for Tuesday's game in Detroit.
Grubauer allowed three goals on 27 shots (.889 SV%) for his third straight loss in his previous start vs. Colorado and will take the crease Saturday vs. the New York Rangers. The 31-year-old goaltender has yet to pick up a win this season and is 0-3-0 with a .909 SV% and 2.71 GAA. He takes on the New York Rangers, who have started the season 2-2-0 and are 19th in the NHL in goals per game (2.75).
Daccord draws his second start of the year after impressing in his season debut on Saturday. The 27-year-old netminder stopped 24 of the 25 shots he faced before falling to the Blues in a shootout. Daccord has made just 20 starts in his career across parts of five seasons with the Kraken and Senators, but he could be in line for an increased workload if he continues to outperform Philipp Grubauer. He will need to be at the top of his game against the Hurricanes tonight if he’s going to secure the Kraken’s first victory of the season.

Grubauer will get the start for the Kraken on Tuesday as they search for their first win of the season. The Kraken are +134 home underdogs tonight and will be hard-pressed for a victory against the undefeated Colorado Avalanche (2-0-0). Seattle has started the season on a terrible note, scoring only twice in their first three games (0-2-1). Despite this, Grubauer has played relatively well for the Kraken, recording a 2.55 GAA and .918 SV% in two games (0-2-0). Grubauer struggled last season with a 2.85 GAA and .895 SV% but was consistently good against his former Avalanche club, posting a 1.70 GAA and .928 SV% in three appearances (1-0-1).

Tanev is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after suffering a lower-body injury in the Kraken's season opener against the Vegas Golden Knights. Tanev is coming off a season where he played a full 82-game slate after only playing 62 games combined in his two seasons prior. Tye Kartye replaced Tanev in their most recent game and will likely remain in the lineup until he is fit to return.
Grubauer will get his second start of the season after allowing three goals on 27 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday. Last season, Grubauer posted a 2.85 GAA and .895 SV% in 39 games (17-14-4) but was considerably better on the road where he had a 2.59 GAA and .904 SV% in 17 games (9-5-2). The Kraken are slight -102 road underdogs against a Predators team that was also defeated on opening night, 5-3 to the Tampa Bay Lightning. In his only game against the Predators last season, Grubauer saved 14 of 16 shots in a 7-2 victory.
Tanev was the recipricantt of a high Brett Howden crosscheck which resulted in a two-game suspension and caused the grinding winger to leave after only 10:07 TOI and will now be out for Seattle's game Thursday vs. Nashville. The 31-year-old's absence creates a glaring hole in the Krakens lineup as Tanev had 16 goals, 35 points and a +21 in 82 games played in 2022-23. Rookie Ty Kartye will be making his NHL debut in place of Tanev.
After having a productive postseason for the Kraken, in which he scored five points (3G / 2A) in 10 games, Kartye is expected to make his regular-season debut against the Predators. The undrafted winger will likely suit up on the fourth line alongside Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Kailer Yamamoto.
Tanev left Tuesday's loss in Vegas after a hit to the head from Brett Howden. The Golden Knights' forward was suspended two games for the hit. Tanev did not return to the game, and the Kraken did not provide an update on his status, so consider him questionable for Thursday's game in Nashville. Tye Kartye would likely replace Tanev if he can't play.
Grubauer was 17-14-4 with a 2.85 GAA and .895 SV% in 2022-23 with Seattle and is their likely starter for their opener Tuesday vs. Vegas after he was the first goalie off the ice at the team's morning skate. He will face the reigning Stanley Cup Champions in Vegas, who were 14th in the NHL in 2022-23 in goals for (267) and 15th in shots on goal per game (31.5).
