Jonas Johansson has been recalled from the Colorado Eagles (AHL).

Johansson is 9-6-0 with a .929 SV% and 2.15 GAA with the Colorado Eagles (AHL) and was recalled Tuesday after it was announced that Pavel Francouz was day-to-day with an injury (lower body). He has yet to play in the NHL in 2022-23, but in his previous 32 career games, has a 9-13-4 record, .883 SV% and 3.42 GAA.

Josh Archibald is considered day-to-day and will miss Thursday's game vs. Carolina (lower body).

Archibald missed the Penguins' last game due to a lower-body injury and is considered day-to-day as he will be forced to miss Thursday's game as well. Archibald has four goals, two assists, 41 SOG, 18 PIMs and a +8 plus/minus through 30 games prior to the injury.

Ryan McDonagh will return Wednesday vs. the Chicago Blackhawks (upper body).

McDonagh has not played since Dec. 2nd due to an upper-body injury but will return to the Predators' lineup vs. the Blackhawks Wednesday. The 33-year-old will be a welcome addition back as he joins Roman Josi on Nashville's top pairing and hopes to add to his six assists, through 23 games played he had picked up prior to the injury.

Cam Atkinson will undergo neck surgery Wednesday and miss the remainder of the 2022-23 season.

Atkinson had not yet played in 2022-23, and will miss the remainder of the season after it was announced Monday that he would be undergoing neck surgery Wednesday. It is a tough blow for the 33-year-old, who was coming off his best season in three years, with 23 goals, 27 assists, 215 SOG and 10 PIMs in 73 games in his first season in Philadelphia in 2021-22.

Logan Brown has been recalled from Springfield (AHL).

Brown had two assists and was a -3 plus/minus in a two game conditioning stint with Springfield (AHL) before being recalled to the St. Louis Blues. Brown missed 18 games due to an upper-body injury before being sent down to the minor but prior to his injury, he had no points, five SOG and was a -2 plus/minus through five games with St. Louis.

Logan Brown has been assigned to the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL) for a conditioning assignment (upper body).

Brown has missed the past 18 games due to an upper-body injury and will head to Springfield (AHL) for a conditioning assignment. Prior to his injury, he had no points, five SOG and was a -2 plus/minus through five games with the Blues.

Elliott will start Thursday vs. the Blue Jackets.

Elliott stopped 34 of 36 shots (.944 SV%) for his sixth straight victory as he beat Nashville in his last start a week ago on Dec. 8th. Eliott has managed to win nearly every game (6-1-0) despite posting a not-so-great .895 SV% and 3.39 GAA. He draws another good start in the Columbus Blue Jackets, who lost their last game 3-0 and ranked 25th in the NHL in goals per game (2.86).

Elliott will start Thursday vs. the Predators.

Elliot allowed five goals on 37 shots (.865 SV%) but still managed to pick up his fifth straight win in a victory over Buffalo his last time out. The Lightnings' backup has been getting wins when called upon this season, with his 5-1-0 record even while posting a fairly bad .886 SV% and 3.62 GAA. He draws the streaking Nashville Predators, who have won their last three games and four of their last five contests.

Brian Elliott was the first goalie off the ice after Tampa Bay's morning skate.

Elliott allowed five goals on 37 shots (.865 SV%) but still managed to pick up his fifth straight win in a victory over Buffalo his last time out. The Lightnings' backup has been getting wins when called upon this season, with his 5-1-0 record even while posting a fairly bad .886 SV% and 3.62 GAA. He draws the streaking Nashville Predators, who have won their last three games and four of their last five contests.

Vasilevskiy will start Tuesday vs. the Red Wings.

Vasilevsky stopped 36 of 39 shots (.923 SV%) winning his sixth game in eight starts as he beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 in his last time out. It's been an off-year for the usually stellar 28-year-old thus far, as he has a 10-7-1 record with a .909 SV% and 2.78 GAA. He will face the Detriot Red Wings who won 4-2 over Columbus in their previous game and rank 15th in the NHL in goals per game (3.17).

Andrei Vasilevskiy
