Head coach Bruce Boudreau announced Monday that Hughes will miss the next few weeks with a lower-body injury. He had five assists through the first five games to start the season while averaging a career-high 27:14 TOI per game.

Brisebois has been called up for the winless Canucks after it was announced Monday that Tucker Poolman would be placed on the injured reserve. Brisebois has played 10 career games in the NHL, yet to collect his first points while getting a -5 plus/minus in his previous three NHL stints prior to Mondays call up.
Chytil will miss at least a week after exiting Sunday's loss to the Blue Jackets early with a head injury. The 23-year-old had three points (2G/1A) and nine shots through his first six games prior to the injury.
Garland was a surprise healthy scratch on Tuesday but is expected to be back in the lineup on Thursday. Garland will replace Nils Hoglander.
Hoglander has just one assist in four games this season. He'll be a healthy scratch in Minnesota with Conor Garland expected to draw back into the lineup.
Sherwood was a healthy scratch for the last two games but he will replace Zach Sanford in the lineup on Thursday. Sherwood has one goal and one assist in three games this season.
The 32-year-old defenseman was activated off the IR Tuesday after missing time with a lower-body injury. The massive 14-year-veteran will start his fourth season with Vancouver having scored 13 goals and 60 points with 166 PIM through 205 games as a member of the Canucks.
Demko will be looking to get the Canucks in the win column for the first time in 2022-23 as they head to Washington to take on the Capitals Monday night. The six-year veteran has struggled mightily in the early season, losing both starts while allowing seven goals on his first 55 shots. The Canucks will need a lot more from their 2021 All-Star netminder if they hope to win their first game of the young season.
