Vatanen was already expected to miss Friday's game vs. the Penguins but his move to IR means he has to miss Saturday's game in Montreal as well. Colton White was called up from Binghamton (AHL) to take Vatanen's spot on the roster.

Vatanen was already expected to miss Friday's game vs. the Penguins but his move to IR means he has to miss Saturday's game in Montreal as well. Colton White was called up from Binghamton (AHL) to take Vatanen's spot on the roster.

White was a fourth-round pick in 2015 and appeared in three NHL games with the Devils last season. The 22-year-old defenseman, who has three assists in 15 AHL games this season, could make his season debut on Friday night. Sami Vatanen (upper-body) was moved to IR to make room for White.

Harrington was a healthy scratch in Montreal but will replace Ryan Murray (lower-body) in the lineup vs. St. Louis. Harrington has been in and out of the lineup all season long, totalling one assist, six shots and four PIMS in six games.

One game after returning to the lineup, Murray will come back out on Friday. The oft-injured defenseman is nicked up after blocking a shot in Montreal and Tuesday and will be replaced by Scott Harrington vs. the Blues. It doesn't sound like a long-term injury this time around, so look for him to be back in the lineup next week.

Kerfoot's injury originally occurred on November 5th vs.the Kings but played through it as long as he could. Kerfoot ultimately elected to undergo surgery and will miss some time. Jason Spezza is expected to replace him as the Maple Leafs' third-line centre and will also see the PP2 time while Kerfoot is sidelined.

There's no indication of who Asplund might be coming up for, but the 2016 second-round pick (No.33 overall) has collected eight points (1G / 7A) in 13 AHL games this season. He has not appeared in an NHL game to-date.

Frederic will likely make his season debut on Friday night because Zach Senyshyn is out for at least four weeks with a lower-body injury. Frederic, who has five assists in 15 AHL games this season, failed to register a single point in 15 games with Boston in 2018-19.

Korpisalo allowed four goals on 36 shots in the Blue Jackets loss in Colorado last Saturday. Elvis Merzlikins gave him the night off in Montreal but they will turn back to their “No.1” guy on Friday. He is 3-5-1 with a 2.96 GAA and .889 SV% in his first nine home starts, so there’s not a lot to like about starting him vs. the Blues.

Senyshyn suffered a lower-body injury vs. the Panthers on Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined for at least one month. Trent Frederic was called up from Providence (AHL) to replace Senyshyn, who had appeared in the Bruins last four games and collected two assists. The 22-year-old will likely return to Providence when he is healthy and look to make a return to Boston later in the season.

Quick allowed one goals on 28 shots in the Kings win over the Wild on Tuesday. The win snapped a five-game losing streak for Quick, who draws a friendly matchup vs. the Red Wings on Thursday. Quick has won 2-2-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .912 SV% in four home starts this season.

Jones stopped 21 of 24 shots in the Sharks win over the Oilers on Tuesday. Jones has won four in a row despite posting a 2.70 GAA and .885 SV%. Jones has not faced the Ducks yet this season but has not won a game on the road, going 0-4-1 with a 3.94 GAA and .871 SV% in six appearances.

Khudobin allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Stars loss in Winnipeg on Sunday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Khudobin, who is 1-2-1 with a. 2.77 GAA and .917 SV% on the road this season. Tonight he faces a Canucks team in a bit of a slump, having lost four of their last five (1-3-1).

Mrazek stopped 27 of 29 shots in the Hurricanes win over the Senators on Monday. The win snapped a brief two-game losing skid for Mrazek, who heads to Buffalo with a 1-2-1 record, 3.44 GAA and .883 SV% on the road this season. The Sabres have scored 3.57 goals per game and are 5-1-1 in seven games at the KeyBank Center.

Brossoit allowed three goals on 26 shots in the Jets win in Vegas on started the last four games but Brossoit will give him the night off in Florida. He is 2-1-0 with a 3.32 GAA and .887 SV% on the road this season and isn't a good option against a Panthers team that is 4-1-1 in their last six.

Gibson allowed six goals on 31 shots in the Ducks loss to the Oilers on Sunday. Gibson has lost six of his last eight starts while posting a 3.54 GAA and .897 SV%. Gibson won his first start against the Sharks while stopping 35 of 36 shots (.972 SV%).

Grundstrom dressed in the last two games and picked up an assist in Montreal but will come out of the lineup on Thursday. Adrian Kempe will be back in the Kings lineup and replace Grundstrom as the third-line left-winger.

Kempe was a healthy scratch vs. the Wild on Tuesday but is expected to replace Carl Grundstrom vs. the Red Wings. After posting 37 and 28 points in the last two seasons, Kempe has struggled to a 19-point pace in 2019-20.

Hronek, who finished Tuesday's game in Anaheim, missed Thursday's morning skate and is questionable to play in Los Angeles. Head coach Jeff Blashill did not rule out the potential of Hronek playing tonight, so monitor his status as the Red Wings hit the ice for warmups.
