The Hurricanes have recalled Michael Leighton from Charlotte (AHL).

Michael Leighton
Price will start Saturday vs. the Sabres.

Price allowed four goals on 26 shots in the Canadiens’ loss to the Penguins on Wednesday. The 29-year-old has struggled big time this month, going 3-4-0 with a 3.40 GAA and .881 SV% in his first seven starts in January. Tonight he faces the Sabres on home-ice, where he’s gone 15-5-2 with a 2.19 GAA and .926 SV% on the season.

Lehtonen was the first goalie off of the ice.

Tonight he will face an Islanders team that is eighth in the NHL in scoring (2.83 GF/PG).

Kari Lehtonen
Ward will start Friday vs. the Penguins.

Ward was pulled after he allowed four goals on 19 shots in the Hurricanes’ loss in Columbus on Tuesday. The loss snapped a four-game losing streak for Ward, who will make his 39th start of the season tonight. Ward comes in ranked 12th in wins (18), tied for 16th in GAA (2.42) and tied for 27th in SV% (.912) in 2016-17.

Cam Ward

Roberto Luongo
The Sabres have recalled Linus Ullmark from Rochester (AHL).

Ullmark, 23, has gone 15-13-1 with a 3.02 GAA and .908 SV% in 29 games with Rochester this season and his recall suggests that there is something wrong with Anders Nilsson as Ullmark and Robin Lehner are the only goalies on the ice this morning.

Linus Ullmark
The Panthers have sent Denis Malgin to Springfield (AHL).

Malgin has often served as a healthy scratch over the last month and has collected just eight points (4G / 4A) in 39 games this season. The Panthers want to get Malgin more playing time, so he will head to Springfield for the first time this season.

The Panthers have recalled Reto Berra from Springfield (AHL).

Berra has gone 9-8-2 with a 2.24 GAA and .917 SV% in 20 games with Springfield this season. Berra’s recall suggests that there is something wrong with either Roberto Luongo or James Reimer, so expect an update later today. Berra has posted a career .906 SV% in 64 NHL games with the Flames and Avalanche.

Reto Berra
Mayfield will be back in the Islanders lineup on Thursday.

Mayfield replaced Johnny Boychuk in the lineup on Saturday and will do so again tonight. Mayfield hasn’t played much this season, but has been effective when he’s drawn into the lineup. Mayfield comes into play with one goal and three assists (four points) in just four games with the Isles.

Scott Mayfield
Boychuk (upper-body) will not play on Thursday.
