Mrazek allowed three goals on 16 shots after replacing Jimmy Howard in the Red Wings’ overtime win in New Jersey last night. With Howard out for at least a week, Mrazek will get back in goal tonight vs. Montreal. Mrazek has struggled so far this season and comes in at 3-3-0 with a 3.33 GAA and .886 SV% in six starts on home ice.
Budaj surrendered two goals on 24 shots in the Kings’ win over the Islanders on Wednesday. Budaj has won four in a row while allowing two goals in each start and posting a .925 SV%. Tonight he’ll take on the Blackhawks for the second time—he stopped 26 of 28 in a 3-0 loss in their first meeting.
Luongo allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Panthers’ loss to the Flyers on Tuesday. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Luongo, who will make his 14th appearance tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Bobby Lu has gone 5-3-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .925 SV% in eight starts on home-ice.
Allen gave up two goals on 41 shots in the Blues’ win in Boston on Tuesday. Carter Hutton got the nod on Wednesday, so they’ll go back to Allen tonight vs. Minnesota. Allen has won his last four starts while turning aside 121 of 127 shots (.953 SV%). Tonight he faces the Wild for the second time this season—he stopped 19 of 21 shots in a 3-2 win in the first meeting.
Price allowed on goal on 32 shots in the Canadiens’ win over the Hurricanes on Thursday. Price has now won 12 of his 14 starts of the season, while posting an impressive 1.71 GAA, .945 SV% and two shutouts. Tonight he will face the Red Wings for the second time this season—he stopped all 25 shots that he faced in a 5-0 shutout win in the first meeting.
Andersen allowed two goals on 29 shots in the Maple Leafs’ loss to the Hurricanes on Tuesday. Jhonas Enroth started on Wednesday, so they’ll go back to Andersen tonight vs. the Capitals. Andersen has gone 7-3-0 with a 2.86 GAA and .910 SV% in 10 starts on home-ice, but will be in tough against a Capitals team that has won four of five.
Prosser has missed the last three games with an illness, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Blues. Christian Folin is out with an MCL sprain, so Prosser is back in the lineup.
Folin left Friday’s win over the Penguins with a knee injury, later revealed to be an MCL sprain. Folin will be sidelined for at least three weeks and will be replaced by Nate Prosser.
Beaulieu was hospitalized last week after being hit in the throat with a shot and was moved to IR. The Canadiens head out West after today’s game so don’t expect him to fly with the team, but could join them later in the trip.
Hudon was injured in a practice session on Friday and did not travel to Detroit with the team for Saturday’s game. Hudon has collected two assists in three games this season and is expected to be replaced by Daniel Carr in the lineup.
Howard left early in the first period of Friday’s overtime win in New Jersey. Head coach Jeff Blashill said right after the game that he would miss at least one week and be placed on IR. With Howard out, Petr Mrazek claims the No.1 job back and Jared Coreau will come up from Grand Rapids (AHL).
Darling surrendered three goals on 27 shots in the Blackhawks’ win in Vancouver last Saturday. Corey Crawford started last night, so Darling is expected to go tonight vs. the Kings. Darling is 4-0-0 with a 2.94 GAA and .904 SV% in four starts and two relief appearances this season.
