Tonight he will take on a Maple Leafs team that has won three in a row and sit at 5-4-3, while averaging 3.08 goals per game (tied for sixth) so far this season.
Puljujarvi was listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s game, but he took the ice for warmups and will gut it out in Pittsburgh. The rookie winger has one goal and two assists in 10 games this season. Taylor Beck will be a healthy scratch.
McIntyre allowed five goals on 31 shots in the Bruins loss in New York on October 26th. Tuukka Rask started the last five games, but he will get the night off on the second of a back-to-back. McIntyre, who has a .854 SV% in two starts, will be in deep water on the road versus Carey Price.
Hellebuyck was pulled after he allowed four goals on 16 shots in the Jets’ loss in New York on Sunday. It was a rough outing for Hellebuyck, who will make his third consecutive start tonight vs. the Stars. Hellebuyck has a pedestrian .900 SV% in eight appearances this season, but his matchup makes him an interesting option on Tuesday—the banged up Stars are 18th in the NHL in scoring (2.58 G/PG).
Jones was yanked after he gave up three goals on seven shots in the Sharks’ loss to the Penguins on Saturday. The loss extended Jones’ losing streak to three games and brought his record to 5-6-0 on the season. Jones has not had the best start to 2016-17, posting a 2.56 GAA and .900 SV% across 11 games and tonight he will be in tough in Washington.
Rieder missed last Thursday’s game vs. the Predators, but played on Friday. Rieder is listed as a game-tie decision, so monitor his status when the Coyotes hit the ice for the warmups at 8:30 p.m. ET. Despite being listed as a game-time decision it seems very likely that Rieder will play—he has five points (2G / 3A) in 10 games this season.
Armia is set to miss is third straight game on Tuesday and is expected to be out for an extended period of time, so the Jets moved him to IR to create a roster spot to activate Tyler Myers from IR and added Jacob Trouba to the active roster after signing him on Monday.
Melchiori failed to record a point while averaging 13:47 TOI in four games with the Jets. With Tyler Myers set to return on Tuesday, Melchiori returns to Manitoba, where he has four points (1G / 3A) in eight games.
Crawford gave up two goals on 33 shots in the Blackhawks’ win in Dallas on Saturday. Crawford was given a night off on Sunday, so they’ll come back to him tonight vs. the Blues. Crawford has been excellent recently, winning five consecutive games with a 1.00 GAA, .970 SV% and two shutouts. He lost his first starts vs. St. Louis this year, but remains a solid option on Wednesday.
Motte suffered the injury on Sunday and it is expected to keep him sidelined for two to three weeks. With Motte out, Andrew Desjardins is expected to make his season debut after being a healthy scratch on Sunday.
Domingue was pulled after he allowed three goals on 21 shots in the Coyotes’ loss in Anaheim on Friday. It was his second starts in as many nights and ended a brief two-game winning streak for Domingue, who now has three wins in his last five starts with a 3.19 GAA and .915 SV%. Try to find a better option than him on a busy Tuesday night.
Fisher will miss his third straight game despite taking part in the Predators’ morning skate. Fisher’s presence on the ice this morning suggests that Fisher could be back in the lineup on Thursday vs. the Blues. With Fisher out, Mike Ribeiro will continue to skate in the top-6 and Calle Jarnkrok will centre the third line.

Despite a limited number of wins, Rinne has played well recently, posting a .939 SV% across his last three starts. Tonight he faces the Senators on home ice, where he is 1-1-1 with a 1.97 GAA and .930 SV% this season.

Trouba was back on the ice with the Jets on Tuesday after signing a two-year deal on Monday. The blur liner skated as an extra and will be scratched on Tuesday, but head coach Paul Maurice said Trouba could play as early as Thursday.
