Roy (lower-body) will return on Wednesday in Nashville.

Roy exited Washington's season opener after playing only 8:39 time-on-ice and has not played since. The 29-year-old Roy signed a six-year contract with the Capitals in the offseason after spending the first six seasons of his career with the Los Angeles Kings. Roy's elite defensive skills and shot-blocking prowess will surely aid a Capitals club that already ranks seventh-best in the league defensively, allowing 33 goals through 11 games.

Makar (undisclosed) left Tuesday's game vs. Seattle in the 3rd period and did not return.

Makar went down awkwardly in the 2nd period of Tuesday's win over Seattle and attempted to return for the 3rd period before leaving for the rest of the game with 15:07 TOI. The Avalanche did not provide an update postgame on the extent of their star defensemen's injury but hope it was just a precautionary early pull. The 26-year-old was an early leader for Norris Trophy votes with 23 points (5G/18A) in his first 13 games played.

Holloway is alert and in stable condition after being transported to a local hospital during Tuesday's game against the Lightning.

Holloway was struck in the neck by a shot late in the first period. He was able to finish his shift but was attended to on the Blues' bench and eventually stretchered to the locker room. Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli reported Holloway was then taken to the hospital for a precautionary scan.

Grubauer will start in Colorado on Tuesday.

Seattle has lost six of their last seven and will turn to Grubauer between the pipes on Tuesday against the Colorado Avalanche. Grubauer has been playing to his averages since joining Seattle, which is, not well enough, posting a 2.89 GAA and .886 SV% through five games (1-4-0). Seattle enters the action on Tuesday as +155 road underdogs against Gubauer's former club, the Avalanche, who are riding a three-game losing skid.

Philipp Grubauer
Peeke suffered an upper-body injury in Tuesday's game in Toronto and will not return.

The injury occurred in the first period when Peeke took a hard hit from Max Pacioretty. Pacioretty was originally assessed a five-minute major on the play but the penalty was rescinded after review. We should receive an update on Peeke's injury ahead of Boston's game against the Flames on Thursday.

Andrew Peeke
Rittich will start in Minnesota on Tuesday.

After Darcy Kuemper shut out the Predators on Monday, the Kings will turn to Rittich in goal for the tail-end of their back-to-back on Tuesday. Rittich took a disappointing loss his last time out, allowing three goals on 20 shots in a 4-2 defeat against the Sharks on October 29th. The 32-year-old netminder owns an .870 SV% and a 3-3-0 record across six appearances this season. He will have his hands full again on Tuesday with the Kings entering action as +180 underdogs in Minnesota.

David Rittich
Hellebuyck will start against Utah on Tuesday.

Despite being one of the league's top netminders to start the 2024-25 season, Hellebuyck has faced some adversity lately, allowing four or more goals in two of his last three but has salvaged a 2-1-0 record. That said, those two blips have been minor in an otherwise Vezina-worthy season, as Hellebuyck boasts a stellar 2.33 GAA and .917 SV% through nine games (8-1-0). The Jets enter Tuesday's contest as -197 home favorites against the Utah Hockey Club, losers of five of their last six (1-3-2).

Connor Hellebuyck
Vasilevskiy will start in St. Louis on Tuesday.

Vasilevskiy had the night off in Tampa Bay's previous game, a 7-4 loss to the Winnipeg Jets, but will return to the crease on Tuesday as he attempts to help his team end a two-game losing skid. The 30-year-old Vasilevskiy has been serviceable, albeit unspectacular, to start the 2024-25 campaign, posting a 2.54 GAA and .906 SV% through 10 games 6-4-0. Tampa Bay enters Tuesday's contest as -175 road favorites against a St. Louis Blues club averaging 2.6 goals per game.

Andrei Vasilevskiy
Geekie is listed as a scratch for Tuesday's game against the Maple Leafs.

Geekie makes way for the recently signed Tyler Johnson, who is set to make his Bruins debut. Geekie is off to a slow start this season, with zero goals and just two assists to his name through 11 games.
