Bernier has recorded 10 goals on four assists (14 points) in 21 games with Bridgeport this season. This will be his first NHL action since 2015-16 when he had one goal and five assists (six points) in 24 games with the Islanders. There’s no word on who Bernier will replace in the lineup tonight.

Greiss allowed five goals on 34 shots in the Islanders loss in Columbus on Thursday. Despite the rough outing yet again, the Islanders will go back to Greiss tonight vs. the Kings. Somehow Greiss has gone 4-3-0 in his last seven starts despite posting an ugly 4.58 GAA and .868 SV%.

Elliott allowed one goal on 20 shots in the Flyers win over the Sabres on Thursday. Elliott extended his personal winning streak to five games, allowing just eight goals on 150 shots (.947 SV%) in the process. Tonight he will face a Stars team that has lost four of their last six games.



Markstrom allowed five gaols on 24 shots in the Canucks loss in Winnipeg on Monday. After Anders Nilsson was lit up for seven on Wednesday the Canucks will come back to Markstrom tonight vs. the Sharks. In his firs start against San Jose, Markstrom allowed three goals on 29 shots in a 5-0 loss in mid-November.


Ward stopped 22 of 24 shots in the Hurricanes shootout win in Vegas on Tuesday. The Hurricanes have a back-to-back today and tomorrow so it looks like Ward will get another start tonight in Buffalo. Ward is 3-1-1 with a 3.16 GAA and .901 SV% on the road this season.



Bernier allowed one goal on 40 shots in Colorado’s win in Pittsburgh on Monday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak for Bernier, who will make his 13th start of the season tonight. He has been inconsistent but really good at times this season and comes into the weekend at 5-6-1 with a 3.05 GAA, .900 SV% and one shutout on the season.

Rask allowed two goals on 33 shots in the Bruins overtime win in Detroit on Wednesday. Rask has now won three straight while posting a 1.34 GAA And .953 SV%. Today he faces the Rangers time for the second time this season—he allowed three goals on 32 shots in a 4-2 loss in New York in early-November.

Talbot has missed the last seven games with an upper-body injury but returns to the crease in Minnesota this afternoon. Talbot has had some struggles this season but he was playing well prior to getting hurt, winning his last three starts while posting a 1.95 GAA and .923 SV%. He isn’t the best option on this loaded 11-game slate, but he should be a middle of the road start in the first game of the day.

Zibanejad remains sidelined with a concussion and will miss his ninth and 10th straight game this weekend. He could practice on Monday so monitor his status heading into next week.

Orpik missed Friday’s practice and the Capitals announced that he is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, making him questionable for Saturday’s game vs. the Ducks.

Talbot has missed the last seven games with an upper-body injury but it looks like Talbot could start Saturday in Minnesota. Laurent Brossoit struggled early-on but has played better recently but expect the Oilers to go back to leaning heavily on Talbot. He has posted a 3.00 GAA and .903 SV% in 22 appearances this season.

Quick allowed five goals on 26 shots in the Kings loss in New Jersey on Tuesday. It was a rare loss for Quick, who had his six-game winning streak snapped. The 31-year-old has been solid on the road this season, going 8-4-0 with a 2.39 GAA and .921 SV% in 12 starts this season. He takes on a Rangers team that has lost three of their last four.

Ho-Sang has just two goals and 10 assists (12 points) in 22 games with the Islanders this season. He returns to the Sound Tigers, where he has six points (2G / 4A) in six games this season.

Binnington was up to back up Jake Allen on Thursday but with Carter Hutton (lower-body) being activated from IR, Binnington returns to Providence.
