

Elliott allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Flames’ loss in Toronto on Monday. Chad Johnson lost again on Tuesday, so they’ll go back to Elliott tonight in Ottawa. The Flames are sliding big time and Elliott comes in having allowed eight goals on 81 shots (.901 SV%) in his last three starts.



The Penguins called Hornqvist day-to-day on Wednesday, but he was on the ice for an optional morning skate and is now a game-time decision for tonight’s game. The Penguins could elect to hold him out and get him some rest over the All-Star break and if he sits, Carter Rowney will make his NHL debut.

Vasilevskiy allowed two goals on 36 shots in the Lightning’s win in Chicago on Tuesday. It was a great game for the young netminder, who was in need of a confidence boost. He will be rewarded with another game tonight in Florida. The 22-year-old is 4-7-0 with a 3.01 GAA and .908 SV% on the road this season.



Murray allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Penguins loss to the Blues on Tuesday. The loss snapped a four-game winning streak for Murray, who will make his sixth consecutive start in net tonight. Murray is 2-0-0 with a 1.98 GAA and .955 SV% in two starts vs. the Bruins this season.


Wingels was acquired in a trade with the Sharks and is set to make his Ottawa debut tonight vs. the Flames. The 28-year-old has eight points (5G / 3A) in 37 games this season and 122 points (51G / 71A) in 337 career games with the Sharks. He will replace Chris Neil and skate with Curtis Lazar and Chris Kelly.

Niemi allowed six goals on 28 shots in the Stars win in New York on December 17th. You don’t see a goalie give up six goals and win very often, but it’s exactly what Niemi did to earn his 10th win of the season. Of those 10 wins, eight of them have come on home-ice, where the 33-year-old has posted a 2.36 GAA and .925 SV%.

Ward allowed six goals on 25 shots in the Hurricanes loss in Washington on Monday. Ward has three in a row while allowing a ridiculous 17 goals on 85 shots (.800 SV%). It’s been a rough stretch for Ward, who has been solid through 40 starts this season. He won his first start vs. the Kings by stopping 21 of 22 shots back in December.

Beauvillier missed Tuesday’s game with a minor foot injury, but will be in the lineup when the Islanders take on the Canadiens tonight. The rookie winger has four goals and seven assists (11 points) in his first 32 NHL games.

Lee was held out of Tuesday’s game vs. Columbus, but will return to the lineup tonight vs. the Canadiens. Lee will take his spot next to John Tavares back and comes into play with 17 goals, which is second on the team behind only Tavares.

Hoffman missed Tuesday’s game vs. the Capitals with an illness, but is expected to play vs. the Flames tonight. Hoffman is tied for the team lead with 17 goals and his 34 points is good for third, behind only Erik Karlssson and Mark Stone.

Dubnyk allowed two goals on 37 shots in the Wild’s win in Dallas on Tuesday. Dubnyk extended his winning streak to three games and now sits alone in second with 26 wins. Dubnyk has been great all season-long and tonight he faces the Blues for the fourth time—he is 1-1-1 with a 2.30 GAA and .924 SV% in the first three.



After being claimed off of waivers on Wednesday, Noesen will make his Devils debut tonight. He had 15 points (6G / 9A) in 22 AHL games this season and two goals in 12 games with the Ducks. The 23-year-old will skate on a line with Jacob Josefson and Pavel Zacha this evening.
