Ward allowed two goals on 18 shots in the Hurricanes 3-1 loss to the Canadiens on Monday. He has lost his last three games, despite only allowing two goals in each contest and posting a .933 SV%. He will need more goal support tonight as he gets the call in goal in Pittsburgh.
Scrivens stopped 20 of 21 shots after replacing Viktor Fasth in the Oilers 4-1 loss to the Flames on Saturday. In 16 starts and three relief appearances since October 27th, Scrivens is 1-10-5 with a 3.29 GAA and .900 SV%. It has been a brutal season and there are no signs of it turning around right now.
Schneider stopped 27 of 28 shots in the Devils 3-1 win over the Penguins on Monday. Of course he plays poorly in good match ups, but well in bad match ups. Tonight, he will make his 12th start in December, he has gone 3-7-1 with a 2.16 GAA and .927 SV% in the first 11.
Rinne surrendered four goals on 42 shots in the Predators 5-4 shootout loss to the Blackhawks last night. Despite the heavy workload, coach Laviolette will go back to him tonight vs. St. Louis. Rinne is a fantasy darling because he is playing great and he is on-pace to start 72 of 82 games this season.
Bergeron missed Monday’s game against Detroit, but practiced this morning. The Bruins play tomorrow, so skating today is a positive sign that Bergeron might be available on Wednesday vs. Toronto.

Porter sustained a leg injury in the Blues 3-0 win over the Avalanche last night. He left the game and did not return. Coach Hitchcock said that Porter will be re-evaluated in six weeks.
Elliott has not started a game since November 25th vs. the Senators. He stopped all 16 shots that night before leaving the game with a knee injury. Elliott has been great this season, he is 8-4-1 with an 1.82 GAA and .931 SV% in 14 starts. Tonight he will face a Predators team who should be low on gas because they are coming off of a 5-4 shootout loss to the Blackhawks last night.
Kopecky is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is listed as day-to-day. Tomas Fleischmann will return to the lineup with Kopecky out tonight vs. the Canadiens.
Montoya allowed four goals on 32 shots i nthe Panthers loss to the Sabres on December 13th. Roberto Luongo started the last six games, but it looks like it will be Montoya tonight in New York. He is 2-2-2 with a 2.26 GAA and .915 SV% on the year.
Luongo allowed four goals on 22 shots in the Panthers 6-4 win over the Maple Leafs on Sunday. Luongo has won five of his last six while posting a 2.23 GAA and .915 SV%—four of those five victories have come in the shootout, which he 5-3 in this season. Tonight he takes on the Habs at home, where he is 8-3-2 with a 2.30 GAA and .917 SV% this year.
Elliott has been out since November 25th with a sprained knee. He was already expected to start tonight vs. the Predators, but now that he has been activated from IR it seems like a near certainty.
There is no word on any injury to Ben Bishop or Evgeni Nabokov at this time, but Vasilevskiy will join the Lightning in Buffalo for Wednesday’s game. Vasilevskiy was excellent in his time with the Lightning while Ben Bishop was injured—he went 2-1-0 with a 2.01 GAA and .940 SV%.
Greiss has missed the last five games with mumps, but with Jeff Zatkoff being sent back to the AHL this morning, Greiss is obviously ready to reclaim his spot as the Penguins backup goalie. He is 3-2-2 with a 2.53 GAA and .919 SV% this season. The Penguins have a back-to-back on Friday and Saturday, so look for him to start one of those games.
