Giroux (lower-body) will take part in warmups tonight, despite not skating this morning.

Giroux reportedly walked into the arena with a walking boot. This comes a day after the Flyers said that Giroux was “fine” and then announced that he would miss the next two games. So Giroux will take part in warmups and should be considered a game-time decision.

The Blue Jackets have assigned Michael Chaput to Springfield (AHL).

Chaput, 22, has recorded two assists with eight penalty minutes and averaged 10:51 of ice time while playing in all 18 games this season with the Blue Jackets. With a healthy Matt Calvert and Jack Skille set to return on Friday, there was no longer room for Chaput.

Gormley (lower-body) will miss 7-10 days.

Gormley was recently placed on IR without a timetable, but head coach Dave Tippett said today that Gormley is “progressing nicely” and should only miss a week to 10 days. Gormley has one goal and an EVEN rating in six games with the Coyotes.

Kuemper is expected to start on Thursday vs. Philadelphia.

Kuemper stopped all three shots that he faced in relief of Niklas Backstrom on Sunday vs. Winnipeg. He was credited with the win, which gives him eight on the season. Tonight he is expected to get the start in Philly. Kuemper has gone 2-4-0 with a 2.35 GAA and .911 SV% on the road this season.

Paquette is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Paquette has played well during his most recent recall haven scored five goals in his last seven games, but was injured in the first period of Tuesday’s loss to the Islanders. Brett Connolly is nearing a return so Paquette was already likely heading back to the AHL.

Cedric Paquette
McQuaid will miss 6-8 weeks with a broken thumb.

The injuries on the Bruins’ blue line continue to mount. McQuaid was limited to just 30 games last season and his injury woes continue. Expect Zach Trotman, who was sent down yesterday, to be recalled. However, Kevan Miller should get into the lineup on Friday.

Adam McQuaid
Russell (lower-body) could return to the lineup on Thursday.

Russell missed Tuesday’s game, but head coach Bob Hartley said that Russell could be back tomorrow vs. the Blackhawks. This is good news that the injury is not serious and Russell should be back in the lineup soon. Russell has eight assists in 19 games this season.

Ramo starts Saturday vs. New Jersey.

Ramo stopped 23 of 25 shots in the Flames 4-2 victory over the Senators last Saturday. He sat during the last two games, but will be back in between the pipes tonight vs. New Jersey. Ramo has been strong at home—1-1-1 with a 2.34 GAA and .909 SV% and gets a Devils team on the tail-end of a back-to-back.

Karri Ramo
Hiller starts Thursday vs. Chicago.

Hiller stopped 24 of 27 shots in a win over his former team on Tuesday. Hiller has been collecting wins, but has allowed three or four goals in each of his last five starts. Tonight he draws a tough matchup against a Blackhawks team who are starting to find their scoring touch.

Jonas Hiller
Mrazek will start his first game of the season on Thursday.

Mrazek will make his season debut tonight after posting a 3-2-0 record with a 3.25 GAA and .876 SV% in six games with Grand Rapids. He is a career 3-5-0 with a 1.80 GAA and .926 SV% in the NHL. He is a young up-and-coming goaltender who had a great preseason, who could make for a nice spot-start tonight vs. the Jets.

Petr Mrazek
Crawford will start in goal for the Blackhawks on Thursday.

Crawford allowed two goals on 24 shots in a win over the Stars on Sunday. With three days off between games, Crawford will make his ninth straight start tonight in Calgary. He has won four of his last eight with a 2.00 GAA and .930 SV%. Don’t hesitate to start him vs. a surprising Flames bunch.

Corey Crawford
Miller starts in goal for the Canucks.

Miller allowed five goals on 23 shots in a 5-0 loss to the Coyotes on Friday. Miller is a fantastic 11-3-0 on the season, but has struggled in his last three starts, going 1-2-0 with a 4.39 GAA and .826 SV%. However, he remains a must-start, especially tonight against an Oilers team he is 10-0 against in his career.

Dupuis has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his lung and will be out of the lineup for at least six months while undergoing treatment with blood thinners.

The clot was identified during testing Monday, after Dupuis had complained of discomfort in his chest. “Pascal had a blood clot in his leg that traveled to his lung,” said Dr. Dharmesh Vyas, the Penguins’ team physician. "This is the second such incident that we know of for Pascal. The treatment is at least six months of blood thinners, during which time he will not be able to play hockey. Other than that, his condition is stable.” Dupuis previously was diagnosed with a blood clot in January 2014, shortly after he suffered torn ligaments in his knee. He was on blood thinners for six months while also recovering from surgery and rehabilitating his knee.
