Luongo likely to start in goal on Friday vs. Buffalo.

Luongo stopped 21 of 22 shots, but it was not enough earn the W on Tuesday vs. the Senators. The Panthers offence fired 30 shots at Craig Anderson, but could not get one by him. Florida's sub-par offence was a fear when drafting Luongo. So far they have just three goals in three games, but something should give on Friday vs. a weak Sabres squad.

Roberto Luongo
Engelland (lower-body) will play on Wednesday.

Engelland suffered a lower-body injury at somepoint during the Flames shootout win over the Predators last night. Engelland will be replaced by Raphael Diaz tonight---Diaz will skate with Ladislav Smid. Engelland is day-to-day.

Deryk Engelland
Murray (knee) skated on Wednesday, but might not be ready for Friday.

Murray is nearing his season debut, but head coach Todd Richards said that penciling him for Friday might be "premature". Richards said he has his fingers crossed for Murray to be ready sooner than later, but “it might be pushing it” to suggest Friday as a possibility. Regardless, Murray continues to make progress and it is a long season. If not Friday, Murray could be back Saturday.

Ryan Murray
Scrivens starts for the Oilers on Wednesday.

Scrivens was always scheduled to get tonight's game, but with VIktor Fasth getting injured last night is was inevitable. After replacing Fasth last night, Scrivens stopped 12 of 15 shots as the Oilers were smashed 6-1 by the Kings. Tonight he will face the 1-1-0 Coyotes, but with how depleted the Oilers roster is right now, Scrivens is a risky start--especially on the back-to-back.

Ben Scrivens
Sekera (upper-body) is "really sore"; listed as day-to-day.

After a rough collision with the boards last night, Sekera did not skate today, but he has not been ruled out for Thursday's game. He is likely dealing with some whiplash and depending on how he feels tomorrow will go a long way in deciding whether or not he plays vs. the Rangers.

Andrej Sekera
Skinner (concussion) will travel with the team, decision on his status will come Thursday.

Skinner was a full participant in Hurricanes practice this morning and skated on the third line with Brad Malone and Patrick Brown. He will probably take part in the morning skate and the Hurricanes will see how he feels before deciding whether or not he will play against the Rangers.

Jeff Skinner
Gibbons has cleared waivers and has been assigned to Springfield (AHL).

Gibbons came over from the Penguins in the offseason, but was unable to crack the Blue Jackets roster. He will head back to the AHL where he had 11 goals and 19 assists (30 points) in 28 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (Penguins' AHL Affiliate) last season.

Cormier (eye) has been assigned to St. John's (AHL).

Now that Cormier's eye injury has healed the Jets have returned him to the AHL. Cormier has just five points (1G / 4A) in 49 career NHL games. He had 26 points (9G / 17A) in 61 games with St. John's last season.

Patrice Cormier
The Canadiens have sent Michael Bournival to Hamilton (AHL).

Bournival, 22, did not play a game with the Habs before being sent down. He had 14 points (7G / 7A) in 60 games with Montreal last season, but the addition of Jiri Sekac has bumped him down on the depth chart. Bournival will play with Hamilton over the weekend and will be back in Montreal next Monday.

Michael Bournival
Forsberg skating with Mike Ribeiro and James Neal.

Forsberg scored his first goal of the season last night and has now recorded at least one point in the first three games of the season. He has one goal and three assists so far and should only continue to produce on the Predators top line with Ribeiro and Neal, who could use a jump-start (1G between the two of them). Forsberg is only owned in 19% of Yahoo! leagues and is definitely worth taking a look at in 12-team leagues.

Filip Forsberg
Booth's (foot) timeline for return is looking closer to six week prognosis, perhaps longer.

Booth was originally expected to miss a minimum of four weeks with a fractured foot, but now it is looking more like a minimum of six weeks. He is two weeks into the original timetable, so expect him to be out until at least the middle of November and perhaps beyond that.

David Booth
Staal (upper-body) is not skating on Wednesday.

Staal missed Tuesday's game and his absence this morning is not a good sign for his availability for Thursday's game vs. the Rangers. The Hurricanes will likely be getting Jeff Skinner back tomorrow, but it does not look like Staal will play. Monitor his status during tomorrow's morning skate.

Eric Staal
Skinner (concussion) has been cleared for contact.

Skinner is a full participant in Hurricanes practice on Wednesday, which means he should be available to play on Thursday against the Rangers. Monitor his status later this afternoon or tomorrow during the morning skate for confirmation that he will play.

Jeff Skinner
Rask was the first goalie off of the ice at the Bruins' morning skate.

Rask surrendered four goals on 21 shots in a loss to the Capitals on Saturday. The Bruins have only scored three goals in front of Rask in his first three starts, but Rask has only posted an .892 SV% so far, so neither party is getting the job done. He will likely face the Red Wings tonight, he lost 2-1 to them on October 9th.

Tuukka Rask
Thornton missed practice this morning to get his teeth repaired, will play on Thursday.

Thornton was clipped by a puck in warmups yesterday and had to go to the dentist to get some repairs done this morning. Thornton has three assists in three games and should be active in fantasy formats tomorrow vs. the Islanders.

Joe Thornton
The Stars placed Rich Peverley on long-term IR over the weekend.

The move gives the Stars some cap and roster flexibility until Peverley is ready to get back to hockey. There is still no timetable for Peverley's return after he collapsed on the bench last season due to a heart condition.

Lewis (upper-body) has been placed on IR, retro active to October 8th.

Lewis has missed the last three games with an upper-body injury and has yet to resume skating. The retroactive move means Lewis can play whenever he returns to full health, but for now he goes on IR to allow the Kings to recall a forward after finding out Marian Gaborik is out on Tuesday.

Trevor Lewis
Coburn (lower-body) was back on the ice for practice on Wednesday.

Coburn did not take part in line rushes originally, but did towards the end of the skate, which suggests he could be back for Saturday's clash with the Stars. With two more days before their next game, the Flyers have time to take a good look at Coburn before deciding if he is ready to go.
