Schneider will start in goal vs. Panthers on Saturday.

Schneider stopped 35 of 39 shots in the Devils 6-4 win over the Flyers on Thursday. Schneider was given a three-goal lead but it slipped away in the final five minutes of the second. Surprisingly, the Devils provided him a ton of goal support, something he didn't get a lot of last season and shouldn't get used to this year. He will face a Florida team who lost their opener to the Lightning in OT.

Cory Schneider
Barry Trotz was pleased with Kuznetsov's play on Thursday.

Despite Kuznetsov playing just 11 shifts and totalling only 6:36 TOI, Trotz said "if he keeps going the way he is, he’ll be taking up a lot of ice time." Fellow rookie Andre Burakovsky scored on his fourth career shift and Kuznetsov could be the same kind of player with his skill set.

Evgeny Kuznetsov
Williams skating with Kopitar and Gaborik for the second straight day.

After the Kings 4-0 loss to the Sharks on opening night, head coach Darryl Sutter elected to switch the lines up already and the switch has Williams playing with Kopitar and Gabo. This was the line that Williams played with in his tremendous playoff run and should lead to more goal scoring opportunities for him in the regular season. He was a minus-2 with five shots in 15:31 on Wednesday.

Justin Williams
Price will start vs. the Flyers on Saturday.

Price looked sharp in his season debut stopping 24 of 27 shots in the Habs 4-3 win over the Maple Leafs. He was given Thursday night off and Dustin Tokarski looked equally as sharp, but to no ones surprise, they will go back to Price against Philadelphia--who is 0-2 with eight goals against so far.

Carey Price
Seguin is not feeling well, but should play on Saturday vs. Nashville.

Seguin missed practice on Friday because of an illness, but stated that he should be available for Saturday night. Seguin had no points with one shot in 18:34 in the Stars' 3-2 shootout loss to the Blackhawks on Friday. Expect an update on Saturday morning.

Tyler Seguin
Stastny (lower-body) is not on the ice for the Blues practice on Friday.

Stastny was shaken up on a hit by Dan Girardi in last night's loss vs the Rangers. He stayed in the game and said that he was fine after the game. It appeared as if he got caught in the quad and could be suffering from a charlie horse, an injury that tends to tighten up the following day. Expect Stastny to play on Saturday vs. the Flames.

Paul Stastny
Kuemper will start on Saturday vs. the Avalanche.

Kuemper stopped all 16 shots that he faced in the Wild's 5-0 victory over the Avalanche on Thursday. The Wild were dominant from start to finish, setting a franchise record with 48 shots. They will get a chance to start the season 2-0 with another win over the Avalanche tomorrow. After Kuemper's season debut, expect another strong outing.

Darcy Kuemper
Bernier was the first goalie off the ice at Maple Leafs practice Friday.

With the Leafs taking on the Penguins on Saturday and the Rangers on Sunday, it looks like Bernier will get the start Saturday and James Reimer on Sunday. Bernier allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Leafs 4-3 loss to the Habs in the season opener. The Penguins lit the Ducks up on Thursday, so this is not a pretty matchup for Bernier.

Jonathan Bernier
Green (upper-body) is a game-time decision for Saturday in Boston.

Green missed Thursday's season opener but could be in the lineup tomorrow when the Capitals take on the Bruins. Nate Schmidt was a plus-1 with two shots on goal in 13:14 TOI in Green's absence.

Mike Green
Franson (foot) skated on Friday and is listed as day-to-day.

Franson missed Wednesday's season opener vs. the Canadiens and could miss Saturday's game vs. the Penguins as well. Rookie Stuart Percy had a solid debut in Franson's place so expect him to play again if Franson is unavailable.

Cody Franson
Griffin Reinhart will make his NHL debut tonight vs. Carolina.

Reinhart, 20, was the Islanders first round pick (4th overall) in 2012. Reinhart is coming off of a season where he had four goals and 17 assists (21 points) in 45 games with the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL) last season. Reinhart will play with Brian Strait on the Isles third pair.

Griffin Reinhart
Halak will make his Islanders debut on Friday.

Halak finished with 29 wins, a 2.25 GAA and .921 SV% between the Blues and the Capitals last season. He moves to an Islanders team who beefed up their entire roster this offseason, especially their blueline last week by adding Nick Leddy and Johnny Boychuk. He will start his Islanders career with a great matchup against a Hurricanes team missing two of their best players.

Jaroslav Halak
The Penguins have recalled Scott Harrington from WIlkes-Barre/Scranton.

Harrington, 21, was one of Pittsburgh’s final roster cuts earlier this week after finishing plus-1 in five NHL preseason games. Harrington played in 76 AHL regular-season games as a rookie last season for WBS, tying for second among team blueliners with 24 points (5G / 19A) while helping his team allow the fewest goals in the AHL.

Scott Harrington
The Rangers have recalled Mike Kostka from Hartford (AHL).

Kostka signed a one-year deal worth $650K with the Rangers this offseason. He has been recalled after the Rangers found out they would be without Dan Boyle for the next 4-6 weeks after he broke his hand in the opener. It will be between Kostka and Matt Hunwick to replace Boyle.

Mike Kostka
Andersen will start Saturday against Detroit.

The other member of the Ducks' goaltending tandem John Gibson was shelled for six goals on 39 shots in a 6-4 loss to the Penguins in the season opener. Andersen had a 20-5-0 record with a 2.29 GAA and .923 SV% in his first NHL season and followed it up with a nice preseason, so expect another strong season behind a great Ducks team. He will face the Red Wings, who beat the Bruins 2-1 in their opener.

Frederik Andersen
Panik replacing Matt Frattin on the Maple Leafs third line.

Panik was claimed off of waivers from the Lightning on Wednesday and it looks like he will play on the Maple Leafs third line with Peter Holland and Daniel Winnik on Saturday. Panik has a lot of offensive skill, but still needs to work on the defensive part of his game.
