Evans is expected to be out 6-8 weeks with an upper-body injury.

Seattle will be without one of their main defensemen for 6-8 weeks after it was announced Ryker Evans was out with an upper-body injury on Wednesday. The 23-year-old is entering his third season with the Kraken after posting career highs across the board in 2024-25 with five goals, 25 points and 59 SOG in 73 games played. Josh Mahura is expected to take his spot in Seattle's lineup while Evans is on the mend.

Ryker Evans
Demidov (wrist) left Tuesday's preseason game vs. Ottawa and did not return.

With Montreal off on Wednesday, Ivan Demidov's injury update will have to wait until Thursday after the 19-year-old prospect left Tuesday's preseason game vs. Ottawa following a slash from Nick Cousins. Demidov is the current favourite to win the Calder Trophy after putting up 19 goals and 49 points in SKA St. Petersburg (KHL) last season.

Edmonton has acquired Connor Ingram from Utah for future considerations (will retain $800K of Ingram's $1.95M AAV).

After clearing waivers a week ago, Connor Ingram has been acquired by the Edmonton Oilers for future considerations, with Utah retaining $800K of Ingram's $1.95M AAV. The 28-year-old is just one season removed from appearing in 50 games with Arizona in 2023-24 after struggling with his 9-8-4 record, 3.27 GAA and .882 SV% last season. Ingram was assigned to Bakersfield (AHL) after the trade but is expected to return to Edmonton at some point this season.

Bonk is expected to remain out for approximately two weeks with a lower-body injury.

Bonk's hopes of cracking Philadelphia's lineup out of training camp took another hit on Wednesday after the team announced he would be out for two more weeks due to a lower-body injury. The 20-year-old defenseman was Philadelphia's 2023 1st round pick (22nd overall) and is coming off a strong, 11-goal, 40-point campaign with London (OHL) in 2024-25. He is expected to start the season in Lehigh Valley (AHL) when he is healthy enough to return.

Oliver Bonk
New Jersey has signed Luke Hughes to a seven-year extension worth $9 million AAV ($63M total).

After a long summer of back-and-forth contract negotiations, New Jersey and Luke Hughes have agreed to a seven-year extension worth $9 million AAV ($63M total). The 22-year-old was New Jersey's 2021 1st round pick (4th overall) and is entering his third full season with the Devils after putting up seven goals, 44 points and 121 SOG in 71 games played.

Luke Hughes
Noesen (groin) is not expected to participate in training camp or the preseason.

Devils' head coach Sheldon Keefe said that Noesen is progressing, but is not expected to see any preseason action. With Noesen injured, rookie Arseny Gritsyuk is likely to make the Devils roster out of training camp. At this point, consider Noesen doubtful to be ready for New Jersey's season opener on October 9th.

Stefan Noesen
Vince Dunn is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Dunn did not practice on Tuesday but is not expected to miss significant time. The 28-year-old Dunn scored 39 points (11G / 28A) in 62 games with Seattle last season. He is one of only 15 defensemen to score over 35 combined goals in the previous three seasons.

Vince Dunn
Pacioretty has announced his retirement after 17 NHL seasons.

The University of Michigan ice hockey program announced that it is adding Max Pacioretty as an assistant coach, concluding his 17-season NHL career. The 36-year-old Pacioretty battled injuries towards the end of his career, but was most notably an electric goal scorer who played his first 10 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens. He scored 681 points (335G / 346A) in 939 games.

Max Pacioretty
Walman is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Walman will likely miss Edmonton's final two preseason games but should be ready for their season opener. The 29-year-old Walman is gearing up for his first full season as an Oiler. He had eight points (1G / 7A) in 15 games with the Oilers after being acquired from the San Jose Sharks before the trade deadline last season.

Jake Walman
Hellebuyck (undisclosed) will play in Tuesday's preseason game in Minnesota.

Hellebuyck left Winnipeg's skate on Monday after he "wasn't feeling quite right," but will suit up in Tuesday's preseason game in Minnesota. The 32-year-old reigning Vezina Trophy winner is coming off an impressive 47-12-3 season, with a 2.00 GAA and .925 SV%.

Miller is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Miller had a scary fall on Monday at New York's practice and had to leave the ice immediately. The 32-year-old was without an update after practice but has since been listed as day-to-day and appears to have avoided any serious concerns. Miller is entering his 14th NHL season and eighth in New York after being reacquired by the Rangers at the mid-point of last season. The newly appointed Rangers captain scored 21 goals and 70 points in 72 games last season.

J.T. Miller
Power is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Power was not at practice on Tuesday, but is unlikely to miss significant time. The 22-year-old Power is coming off a career-best season in 2024-25, scoring 40 points (7G / 33A) in 79 games. With Rasmus Dahlin locked into Buffalo's top powerplay unit, Power will likely spend most of the season quarterbacking the second unit.

Owen Power
Zuccarello (lower body) is expected to miss seven to eight weeks.

Zuccarello will likely not be an option for Minnesota until late November, as he is recovering from a lower-body injury. The 38-year-old Zuccarello has remained productive for Minnesota, playing primarily alongside Kirill Kaprizov, including scoring 54 points (19G / 35A) in 69 games last season. Zuccarello's absence creates an opening in Minnesota's top six, potentially giving a player like Liam Ohgren a chance to showcase his talents.

Mats Zuccarello
The Wild have signed Kirill Kaprizov to an eight-year deal worth $17.0M AAV ($136M total).

After countless trade speculations and a deliberate back-and-forth between Kaprizov and the Minnesota Wild, the two parties have agreed on an NHL record-breaking eight-year, $17 million AAV contract. Since his introduction in the NHL in the 2020-21 season, Kaprizov has been among the top point producers in the league, with 386 points (185G / 201A) in 319 games. The 28-year-old superstar forward battled injuries last season and was limited to only 41 games, scoring 56 points (25G / 31A), and will hope to return to speed as one of the NHL's most productive players in the 2025-26 season.

Kirill Kaprizov
Hoglander successfully underwent lower-body surgery and is expected to be out for 8-10 weeks.

Hoglander's sixth season in Vancouver will get off to a rocky start after the Canucks announced Monday that the forward successfully underwent lower-body surgery and is expected to be out for 8-10 weeks. The 24-year-old was expecting to play his usual bottom-six role this season after an eight-goal, 25-point campaign across 72 games played in 2024-25.

Nils Hoglander
Dostal is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Anaheim will be without its starting netminder for a few days after it announced Lukas Dostal was day-to-day with a lower-body injury on Monday. The 25-year-old is expected to take a step forward this season after the Ducks moved John Gibson to Detroit in the offseason. Last year was his best season since joining the NHL in 2021-22, going 23-23-7 with a 3.10 GAA and .903 SV%.

Lukas Dostal
Hellebuyck's status for Tuesday's preseason game is up in the air after he left practice on Monday and did not return.

Hellebuyck left Winnipeg's skate on Monday after he "wasn't feeling quite right" and will now have his status up in the air for Tuesday's preseason game in Minnesota. The 32-year-old reigning Vezina Trophy winner is coming off an impressive 47-12-3 season, with a 2.00 GAA and .925 SV%. If he is forced to miss any time, Eric Comrie will be expected to fill in.
