Askarov will start vs. Los Angeles on Tuesday.

After losing their first six games of the season (0-4-2), the Sharks have been better lately, winning two of three (2-1-0), but have continued to struggle keeping the puck out of their net. The Sharks have started the 2025-26 season as the worst defensive team in the league, allowing 42 goals in nine games (4.7 GA / GP). Askarov returns to the crease on Tuesday and hopes to return to the form that made him an 11th-overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. The 23-year-old goalie has an ugly 4.79 GAA and .855 SV% in five games this season (1-3-1). The Sharks enter Tuesday's contest as +184 home underdogs against a Los Angeles Kings team with points in four of their last five (3-1-1).

Yaroslav Askarov
Quick was the first goaltender off the ice at New York's morning skate on Tuesday.

The Rangers are off to a disappointing 3-5-2 start this season, but can't pin the blame on either of the goaltenders, who have regularly been effective between the pipes. The veteran 39-year-old Quick has seen limited action but been solid when called upon, showcasing a 2.03 GAA and .911 SV% in two games (1-1-0). The Rangers enter Tuesday's contest as -111 road favorites against a Vancouver Canucks team with a 5-5-0 record to start the season.

Jonathan Quick
Iorio will be a healthy scratch vs. Los Angeles on Tuesday.

With John Klingberg (lower body) returning to the Sharks' lineup on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings, Iorio will be the odd man out, serving as a healthy scratch. The 22-year-old Iorio is averaging 16:20 time-on-ice and has zero points in six games this season.

Vincent Iorio
Foegele (upper-body) is out vs. San Jose on Tuesday and is expected to "miss some time".

Foegele exited the Kings' 3-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday early in the first period due to an upper-body injury after only 1:29 time-on-ice. The 29-year-old forward had a breakout campaign in 2024-25, his first season with the Kings, scoring 46 points (24G / 22A). He has not had the same offensive prowess early in 2025-26, averaging nearly three minutes less ice time per game and scoring only one point (1G / 0A) through 10 games.

Warren Foegele
Othmann is expected to be a healthy scratch in Vancouver on Tuesday.

Jonny Brodzinski will draw back into the Rangers' lineup on Tuesday against the Vancouver Canucks, sending Othmann to sidelines as a healthy scratch. The 22-year-old Othmann made his season debut in New York's most recent game, recording a -1 plus/minus in 12:31 time-on-ice.

Urho Vaakanainen
Dobes will start in Seattle on Tuesday.

After 10 games (7-3-0), Montreal has been pleasantly surprised by the play of Dobes between the pipes and will turn to him for his sixth start of the season on Tuesday when they face off against the Seattle Kraken. Dobes has been near perfect to start the 2025-26 season, posting a stellar 1.77 GAA and .940 SV% in five games (5-0-0). The Czech goalie started last season with a similar 5-0-0 record. The Canadiens enter Tuesday's contest as -121 road favorites against a Kraken team off to a solid 5-2-2 start.

Jakub Dobes
Hughes (lower-body) will remain out for a second straight game on Tuesday and is considered day-to-day.

Hughes did not play in Vancouver's most recent game and will remain out of the lineup on Tuesday for a second consecutive contest. The 26-year-old Hughes showed no signs of injury in his most recent game, tallying two assists and playing 26:25 time-on-ice. Filip Hronek has filled in on Vancouver's top powerplay unit in the interim, but Hughes is not expected to be sidelined for long.

Quinn Hughes
Chaffee has cleared waivers and been assigned to Syracuse (AHL).

Chaffee played a career-high 66 games with Tampa Bay last season, tallying 16 points (12G / 6A). The 27-year-old forward started the season with Tampa Bay but was held off the scoresheet in seven straight games, resulting in him being a healthy scratch for multiple contests, and ultimately being placed on waivers on Monday. He will report to the Syracuse Crunch (AHL).

Mitchell Chaffee
Pesce (upper-body) is expected to be out for at least a month.

Pesce exited Sunday's 4-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche in the first period after only 6:07 time-on-ice due to an upper-body injury. The 30-year-old defenseman has been a stabilizing force on New Jersey's blueline, averaging 19:39 time-on-ice and scoring three points (0G / 3A) in nine games. Seamus Casey draws into the Devils' lineup on Tuesday, filling in for Pesce on the blueline.

Brett Pesce

He is expected to return to his spot on the team's top powerplay unit.

John Klingberg
Leason has been loaned to Hershey (AHL).

Leason started his career in the Capitals organization but spent the previous three seasons with the Anaheim Ducks. He signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Capitals on Monday, his second stint with the team, providing some organizational depth on a two-way contract.
