Hartman (upper-body) is expected to return to the Wild lineup on Friday.

Hartman has missed the last five games due to an upper-body injury but was back at practice on Thursday and could be an option to return to the lineup on Friday against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 30-year-old Hartman was off to a strong start to the season before his injury, with two goals in his first four games.

Lizotte (concussion) will be a game-time decision on Thursday vs. Anaheim.

Lizotte suffered a concussion during training camping and has missed the first 11 games of the season, but could make his debut on Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks. The 28-year-old signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract in the offseason with Pittsburgh after five solid seasons in Los Angeles. In 62 games in 2023-24, Lizotte had seven goals, 15 points, 76 SOG and 20 PIMs while averaging just 11:49 TOI/GP.

Blake Lizotte
Andersen (lower-body) is out week-to-week.

After being re-evaluated, the Hurricanes received bad news regarding Andersen's lower-body injury, downgrading his initial day-to-status to week-to-week. The only positive news regarding Andersen's injury is that it is not related to the blood clotting issues that caused him to miss most of the 2023-24 season. The 35-year-old netminder has a 1.48 GAA and .941 SV% through four outings this season (3-1-0). Expect Pytor Kochetkov to control the Hurricanes' crease in Andersen's absence.

Frederik Andersen
Lehkonen (shoulder) is expected back on Tuesday vs. Seattle.

The Avalanche, amid a myriad of injuries, finally received some good news on the injury front. Lehkonen is expected to return from a shoulder injury and make his season debut on Tuesday against the Seattle Kraken. The 29-year-old Lehkonen has been productive since joining Colorado three seasons ago, including a 34-point campaign (16G / 18A) in 45 games last season.

Artturi Lehkonen
Tarasenko (illness) is listed as a scratch on the NHL.com roster report.

Tarasenko is battling the flu and his status for Wednesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets was up in the air as a result. The 32-year-old Tarasenko is off to a slow start in his inaugural season with the Red Wings, scoring only three points (2G / 1A) in his first nine games.

Vladimir Tarasenko
Honzek (upper-body) is expected to return on Wednesday in Utah.

Honzek will not play on Wednesday due to an upper-body injury. The 19-year-old Slovak was the 16th overall pick of the Flames in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. In four games this season, Honzek has zero points, six shots, and four hits while averaging 12:47 time-on-ice.

Samuel Honzek
Wood (upper-body) is expected to miss the next 7-10 days.

Wood will not play on Wednesday and will be out of the lineup for 7-10 days, another in a myriad of injuries for the Avalanche, and will be replaced by freshly recalled T.J. Tynan. In 10 games this season, Wood has one goal, a -2 plus/minus, and is averaging 13:40 time-on-ice.

Miles Wood
Colton (broken foot) is expected to miss 6-8 weeks.

Colton played 15:00 time-on-ice before exiting Monday's 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks due to a lower-body injury. The 28-year-old Colton was seen leaving the arena in a walking boot after the game and is expected to be out of the lineup for 6-8 weeks. The 28-year-old Colton was leading Colorado with eight goals in 10 games and is another loss for an Avalanche club decimated with early-season injuries.

Ross Colton
Chychrun is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Chychrun exited Tuesday's 5-3 win over the New York Rangers in the first period due to an upper-body injury after only 1:50 time-on-ice. The 26-year-old Chychrun has four points (2G / 2A) and 14 shots through eight games this season. Expect Alexander Alexeyev to replace Chychrun on Thursday if Matt Roy isn't ready to return to the lineup.

Jakob Chychrun
Guhle (upper-body) will travel with Montreal on their upcoming two-game road trip.

Guhle has missed five straight games due to an upper-body injury but is nearing a return to the Canadiens' lineup. The 22-year-old defenseman has had a strong start to the 2024-25 season, tallying four points (1G / 3A), 20 blocks, seven hits, and a +4 plus/minus rating in five games.

Kaiden Guhle
McDavid sustained an ankle injury and is expected to return in two to three weeks.

McDavid only played one shift on Monday night, exiting the game after only 37 seconds of ice time after awkwardly colliding into the boards. The superstar forward returned to Edmonton to be evaluated and has announced Wednesday that he is expected to return to action in two to three weeks with an ankle injury. McDavid, averaging an absurd 1.7 points per game over the previous four seasons, had begun the 2024-25 campaign off to a slow start by his elite standards, with 10 points (3G / 7A) in 10 games.

Connor McDavid
Wood (undisclosed) is out on Wednesday vs. Tampa Bay and considered day-to-day.

Wood will not play on Wednesday, another in a myriad of injuries for the Avalanche, and will be replaced by freshly recalled T.J. Tynan. In 10 games this season, Wood has one goal, a -2 plus/minus, and is averaging 13:40 time-on-ice.

Miles Wood
The Avalanche have placed Ross Colton (upper-body) on IR.

Colton was injured in Monday's loss and is expected to "miss some time," so it's not surprising to see him land on IR to open up a spot on the Avalanche roster for Wednesday's game. It's unclear whether Artturi Lehkonen or Jonathan Drouin are ready to make their returns to replace Colton or if they will need to recall a forward from the AHL.
