York (upper-body) will miss at least two weeks.

Pesce (fibula) is on the ice for warmups and is expected to play against the Islanders on Friday.

Pesce signed a six-year contract to join New Jersey in the offseason after nine successful seasons on Carolina's blueline and finally make his Devils debut on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings, recording three shots in 17:33 time-on-ice. He was a game-time decision on Friday against the New York Islanders as the Devils considered easing him back into the lineup. In 70 games in 2023-24, Pesce had three goals, 13 points, 20 PIMs, and a +10 plus/minus while averaging 20:17 TOI/GP.

Hughes (shoulder) is on the ice for warmups and is expected to play against the Islanders on Friday.

Hughes played his first game of the season on Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings after suffering a shoulder injury in mid-September and recorded one assist in 15:11 time-on-ice. He was a game-time decision on Friday against the New York Islanders as the Devils considered easing him back into the lineup. In 2023-24, he had nine goals, 47 points, 135 SOG, 28 PIMs, and a -25 plus/minus in 82 games, finishing third place in voting for the Calder trophy.

Theodore (illness) will play on Friday vs. Ottawa.

Fresh off of signing a seven-year, $51.975 million contract extension ($7,425,000 AAV), Theodore will draw back into the Golden Knights' lineup after missing one game due to illness. The 29-year-old Theodore is off to a blistering start to the 2024-25 season, with seven points (1G / 6A), three on the powerplay, in six games.

Shea Theodore
Pinto (undisclosed) is out on Friday in Vegas.

Pinto didn't show any signs of an ailment in Tuesday's 4-0 win over Utah HC, but was not present at practice on Thursday, and will not play on Friday against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 23-year-old Pinto has three points and -3 plus/minus through six game this season. Cole Reinhardt will draw into the Senators' lineup as Pinto's replacement.

Shane Pinto
Johnson (upper-body) will miss significant time but will not require surgery.

Fortunately for Johnson and the Blue Jackets, Johnson will not require surgery, the slimmest of silver linings on unfortunate injury news on the talented youngster. The 22-year-old Johnson was showing signs of a true breakout campaign with two goals and three assists in his first four games.

Kent Johnson
Aube-Kubel (lower-body) is available for Saturday but seems likely to return on Monday vs. Florida.

Aube-Kubel played only 5:45 time-on-ice before exiting Buffalo's season-opening game and has missed seven straight since then. The 28-year-old signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Sabres in the offseason after a 2023-24 campaign with the Washington Capitals where he scored 16 points (6G / 10A) in 60 games.

Nicolas Aube-Kubel
Konecny is considered day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.

Konecny was absent from practice on Friday, and his status for Saturday's game against the Minnesota Wild is up in the air. The lowly 1-5-1 Flyers can ill afford to lose their talented forward, Konecy, who has four points (3G / 1A) in seven games this season.

Seven games through the 2024-25 season, York leads all Flyers players, averaging 22:56 time-on-ice. The Flyers return to action on Saturday afternoon against the Minnesota Wild.

Cam York
Colton left Thursday's game with an upper-body injury and will not return.

Colton exited Thursday's 5-1 win over the Utah Hockey Club with an upper-body injury after 11:07 time-on-ice. Colton managed a goal before his exit, his seventh in eight games to start the season. Further updates on Colton's status will likely be provided this weekend. The Avalanche return to action on Sunday against the Ottawa Senators.

Ross Colton
Kuemper (lower-body) has been activated off IR.

Kuemper has not played since a forgetful outing on October 14th when he allowed eight goals on 41 shots (.805 SV%) in an 8-7 loss to the Ottawa Senators. He was placed on Injured Reserve shortly after. David Rittich had stepped in as the Kings' starter in Kuemper's absence and will start again on Thursday against the San Jose Sharks. Kuemper could have a chance to return to the crease on Saturday against the Utah Hockey Club.
