The Vegas Golden Knights have signed forwards Zach Aston-Reese and Tanner Laczynski to contracts.

According to his agent Dan Millstein, Aston-Reese is signing a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000. Aston-Reese spent the 2023-24 campaign with the Detroit Red Wings and their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins after signing a PTO last fall.

The 29-year-old has eight NHL seasons to his credit, scoring 42 goals and 80 points over 310 games. He had a career-best 17 points in 43 games in 2018-19 while with Pittsburgh, his second year in the NHL.

Laczynski is signing a two-year, 1.55 million deal worth $775,000 AAV. Laczynski spent the 2023-24 campaign playing with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the Philadelphia Flyers’ AHL affiliate. The 27-year-old had 17 goals and 27 assists in 49 regular season games and four goals and zero assists in six Calder Cup playoff contests.

Throughout his career so far, the Shorewood, Illinois product has two goals and two assists in 38 NHL games spread between three seasons with the Flyers.

With Vegas losing Chandler Stephenson to the Seattle Kraken and Anthony Mantha to the Calgary Flames, Vegas has cap space to do something interesting and a lot of eyes are on Kelly McCrimmon and the Golden Knights.
